Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. It’s got a few dings and plenty of dust, but it appears sound, complete and stock.

The overdrive will get you down the freeway and the 5:38 gears + the winch will get you through the trails. Nice.
“I’ve had this jeep for about 17 years. In 1996 I decided to bring it back to its military look with some extras. I had the motor and trans. rebuilt and the t case inspected and resealed. The motor is not original,it has a 1964 buick 225 v6. The rest of the drive train is original military issue as far as I know with the addition of a Warn overdrive and a Lockrite locker in the rear dana 44 with 538 gears. The overdrive gives an extra gear in all 3 spds and is great for highway speeds and allows you to keep up with traffic at 65+mph.”
This is for our Indonesian readers, of which there are probably zero …. However, we have some great readers from India who might find this M-38 a rare opportunity. NOTE: This body does not have the battery opening on the cowl nor the cutouts on the passenger side!!
“This is a 1952 Willys GPW M38. It has been completely disassembled and rebuilt and restored from the ground up. Everthing on or in this Jeep has ethier been rebuilt or replaced. The engine was rebuilt in the process. Everthing works as it should including all the gauges. The top and all the upholstery is new…..”

Given this M-38 is doing duty as a storage unit, it’s hard to tell what the condition of it is. The description is slim, too.

I’m not convinced this is actually a complete vehicle, given it appears the front driveline is missing. If the lift was reduced significantly, as well as the price, then the chances of a sale will likely increase. On the plus side, the body/hood/fenders look straight and the engine has been nicely fitted into the engine compartment.
