UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2500
(01/12/2011) This looks pretty solid. It might make a good restoration project given it is still 24 volt.
“i have a 1952 willys m38a1 military jeep. it is all original with rebuilt engine transmission and transfer case that have no miles on them. this project is almost done does not run, just needs someone to finish it. has original four cylinder with 24 volt military electrical system would be easy to swap to 12 volt. has very minimal surface rust for how old it is. i am going to start working on it a little bit soon cleaning up the rust and getting it painted original military green so the price will go up accordingly. it is all exactly how it was when it served in the military great project have to see it to appreciate. has tow bar so it can be towed without trailer but i would use a trailer. jeep is just going to sit in my shop for a long time before i get to it and i want someone to appreciate it has lots of extra parts and original equipment. i had a friends uncle look at it and he is an expert in old military jeeps and he said this jeep in this condition could go for 5k had a guy look at it today and he said it is very good condition for what it is and very sturdy. i have been informed all it is really missing is the 24 volt generator and a few small pieces for the carb. or more easily so text at 503-407-1492 my name is jared. chances are i wont answer calls so text and email is better i get email on my phone so i will get back quick but if you have to call please leave a message and i will get back to you. I am very interested in a 1998 or 1999 subaru outback manual or auto.”
UPDATE: Still Available
(05/27/2010) Dan spotted this potential deal. This has an Overdrive unit that the seller doesn’t mention. You can see it through the missing floor section.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2600.
(01/16/2011) This looks like a good little runner for a reasonable price. The body does have a few body patches.
“1959 Willys Jeep CJ5 with about 27,000 miles on the speedometer (speedometer was disconnected when I bought the Jeep). 3-speed with high/low range and 4×4. Has the front locking hubs. 12-volt system. Rebuilt starter motor and carburetor last week.
Wheels are 15 inch and in great condition with good Michelin 33×12.5 tires on them with good tread remaining. Previous owner invested over $900 in wheels and tires alone.
A few small rust spots under the paint and it is not a professional paint job but it looks good. The jeep does have a rust hole in the glove box and in the compartment under the passenger seat as well as some through the back bumper. There are metal plates screwed on across the back, in the bed, and on the front floors due to rusting of the original metal I presume. Some fiberglass repairs have been made on the back fenders also. Overall it is a very solid jeep.
It runs strong with no problems, starts and drives great. Previous owner took the glass out of the windshield frame. Needs turns signals, brake light wires connected,, and a windshield.
I have a top and two doors from a Humvee that I’ll include with the jeep. They are in good condition except for a hole in one of the plastic windows. They would need customizing to be able to be put on the jeep though.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1200.
There looks like some value. The seller needs to sell, so make offer.
“This is a 1953 M38A1 Willy’s Jeep. The body has some rust with some small holes. The Jeep was bought to be a restoration project, but currently I have other projects. The Jeep does have the original drive train, including carburetor, engine, transmission, transfer case, and front and rear wheel axles. The electrical system was converted to 12V system before I purchased it in 2010. The Jeep does have the original data plate and VIN number plate. The Jeep is not currently running due to the fact it needs wiring and a battery. This Jeep would be a GREAT restore project OR great for parts! . When I purchased the Jeep it did NOT come with a Title, however we did register the Jeep in the state of Georgia with a bill of sale. I am asking 1200.00 or best offer! PLEASE feel free to make a offer, it needs to be sold!!!!!”
