This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “FOR SALE 1954 WILLYS M38A1. RUNS GOOD. HAS THE ORIGINAL 4 CYLINDER MOTOR. HAS NEW 2ND GEAR SYNCHROS/BEARINGS. HAS ALUMINUM RADIATOR INSTALLED BUT I STILL HAVE THE ORIGINAL RADIATOR THAT CAME WITH IT. HAS GOOD RUBBER ALL THE WAY AROUND. I DO NOT HAVE THE TOP FOR IT BUT I DO HAVE THE DOORS AND THE FRAME FOR THE TOP. NEEDS WORK DONE ON THE SEATS.”

Listed as a 1955, it is either a 1952 or early 1953 based on the hinged grille. The 2nd jeep for $500 is a CJ-5, not an M-38A1.
“Jeep project, I bought this jeep at auction and was told it had been running in the last few years. I got into bad gas and gave up. It is complete and has a military id plate but not titled yet. I have fuel tank out and it is in restorable condition. There is a similar year body that could go with purchase for an additional $500.”

This includes an onboard welder. However, the grille is not on hinges like a ’52 grille ought to be.
