Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1948 Willys CJ2A? Pretty cool old jeep, worth fixing for sure. Looks like it’s all there, I did get the motor to “run” off starter fluid. Frame is good, body is rough but better than most, definatly useable. Motor was rebuilt at some point, looks to have the original drivetrain ( flathead 4, 3 speed manual, spicer 18)”

“For Sale a rare 1966 Jeep Willys Wagon 4 door (6 if you count the 2 ambulance style rear doors).
It has full time 4wd with a three speed transfer case. freshly rebuilt 4cyl 134 f head engin, and 3 speed manual transmission. This Jeep has less than 10k miles. It is a right hand drive. “Solid frame, floors replaced with diamond plate, needs body work. Bought new carb, not yet installed. Has newer radiator and brakes done by last owner. This jeep is a mahindra, an Indian built cj5. Bought this jeep last spring, but must now sell because of move. Call Ken 603.566.2258 and leave a message and I’ll get back to you. NO TEXTS PLEASE”

“This Mahindra was restored to original except for the following:
The original Willys style overhead valve 4 cylinder has been replaced with a GM inline 1990’s cast iron 4 cylinder like those found in the small rear wheel drive GM cars and small trucks of the late 70’s & 80’s.
This Jeep has been totally restored by a Jeep enthusiast in New Zealand, the country in which this CJ4A was sold new.
Please view posted photos of restoration.
This Jeep is in impeccable condition and runs and drives as great as it looks and the 4 wheel drive works properly. This restored Jeep can not be duplicated for $15,000.”
This looks like a well done rig. The Mahindra MM540 was phased out in 2000. You can read about Julian and his jeep in the Hindu Times.

“Restored 1974 Mahindra Jeep CJ4A, produced in India under license from Willys Motor Co. in the USA.
Close copy of a Jeep CJ2A.
Upgraded with a GM inline 4 cylinder gas engine and transmission.
All running gear rebuilt and functions properly.

Imported from New Zealand, hence the right hand drive. Yes RHD vehicles are legal in all 50 stayes, just ask your mail man.
