1942 MB/GPW La Place, La eBay

1942_mb_gpw_laplaceIt looks like it needs a good cleaning, but I think it will clean up well.

“This Willys jeep was commisioned to Fort Polk. It had a rebuild in 1985.
Owner died in 1989 and the jeep was stored in a barn until four months ago.
I acquired it in an estate sale. Everything was said to be original when I bought it from the sale. As seen in the photos it is dusty from all the years being stored. The jeep was  licensed and driving in the late eighty’s and has a clear title. I have extr tires, rims, and other parts that go with it. Any questions please call Mike at (504)417-4535.”

1942 MVD? Mooreville, Ms $4500

• CATEGORIES: GPW (Ford MB), MB This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

1942_mb_moorevilleI’ve not heard of an MVD?  It does appear to be an MB body.  The story behind the purchase is a bit odd.  He tried to convince his parents he didn’t want it, and just wanted to sell it, but has done a bunch of work on it?  hmmmm…..

“… Well, after weeks of trying to convince my parents that I do not want this thing, here it is up for sale to you. I will tell you what I know about the vehicle. Having personally worked on it, the Jeep runs very well, solid engine and drive train, four wheel drive works, all electrical items, except the fuel gauge. The fuel gauge needs the sensor in the tank, the actual gauge is fine. The outside paint actually looks good, orange in color. The soft top is showing some significant age, windows are whiting….”

1942 MB/GPW + trailer Georgetown, Ca $7200

• CATEGORIES: GPW (Ford MB), MB This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

1942_mb_georgetownI’m pretty sure the 4:20 rear ends are really 4:10 gearing front and rear (or they are 538 gears).  What’s a 538 GM transmission?  There’s some mixed up numbers.   The trailer certainly is interesting.

This looks great, though it’s not in perfect condition.  There’s a nice long list of large pics.  It’s worth taking a peek at this one.

“This 1942 Willys Jeep has been in southern California since new. The body was taken down to bare metal top and bottom and was repainted its original olive drab military color at a cost of over $5000.The body is spotless rust free and it was only used in the dry desert climate since new. The black California license plates that were assigned to it back in the 1960’s are still registered to it. I have both plates. It has new canvas seats from Beachwood Canvas. The radiator has been recored, the motor rebuilt and the brakes just serviced. It has 5 brand new military Jeep correct 1942 tires by Wallace Wade Specialty Tires that were just put on …”

Jeep Collection for sale out of Colorado

• CATEGORIES: CJ-2A, CJ-3A, CJ-3B, CJ5, GPW (Ford MB), MB This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

willys_collectionUPDATE:  This was $85,000 for the whole collection. I have found some related craigslist ads.  See them below.

I’ve found a couple references to the sale of this collection.  Anyone know more? Based on the pic to the right, these don’t appear in great condition.  My guess is that this is over priced.

Here is a link to another reference at Hemmings, where I found the pic to the right.

Here’s a link to Hemmings that readsWILLYS: elderly WW II veteran has vintage Jeep collection, 40s-60s, both military and civilian, must sell, best offer.”

CRAIGSLIST ADS RELATED TO ABOVE:

1946 CJ-2A $4995

This one looks perfectly find.  The price doesn’t seem that outrageous.

“1946 Willys C-J2A spruce green all original condition, partially restored with new canvas removable top – runs and drives – $4,995”

1948_cj2a_colorado

1948 CJ-2A $11,500

This one doesn’t look like it is in great condition.  There’s no reason to think it is worth $11,500.

“1948 Willys C-J2A signal red fully restored and in great condition – $11,500– Firm”
