These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, I go away for one night (hanging out in Yakima)…. though a fun night … and the search site (jaxed) that I have used faithfully for 4 years to find old willys & jeeps for sale across the US receives a cease and desist letter from Craigslist lawyers. I have seen that happen to other sites, but somehow jaxed could always get around it, until now.
While I can still search through a mashed up collection of individual craigslist sites through SearchTempest, searching nation-wide will be more difficult (or at least time consuming using SearchTempest). So, I will spend a day or two trying to figure out another method. One way or another I will have updates Sunday night.
In the meantime, I finished draft 3 of my book, which involves jeeps and more. The reviews I have received are extremely positive, so I hope to complete one more draft and then have it ready sometime in September for ebooks (real books will take longer, but I hope will come at some point too). Bill forwarded this MB/GPW. There have been a few updates on this. I didn’t know there were lighters in WWII jeeps! That must have been handy for keeping their cell phones charged, too.

“1961 Jeep Willys Pickup, serial number 55268-64738. The title is clean and in my possession.
It is powered by a Ford 302 small block V8. The engine is used but starts and runs nicely. The three speed transmission and transfer case are original. The four wheel drive works great. There is an aftermarket overdrive installed and it will cruise at highway speeds. The rims are aftermarket chrome-alloy and the tires are barely used.
Mechanical updates include: power brakes, electrical engine fan, new fuel tank, and dual exhaust with cherry bombs. The steering is still original but has been overhauled including a new steering wheel. The bed is lined with Herculiner roll on bed liner. The interior is restored with new upholstery, rubber flooring, and door panels. The door and floor panels are new and made out of an oak veneer.
The carburetor needs a tune up and the suspension is sagging and needs updated. There is a crack in the top corner of the driver’s side window. If the battery is not unplugged after driving it will drain over long periods of time. The paint is in decent condition with only minor scratches and chips. Rust is minimal. ”
The tub is brand new.
“Clear title. New remanufactured tub/body- red, no rust. Completely rebuilt engine and running gear 4 plus years ago, almost zero miles since. Replaced Carter W/O 636-SA carburetor. Seats refinished to new condition, rear bench seat. 5 new 600×16 tires. New master cylinder, elec. wiper assy, spare tire bracket (not installed). New convertable top (tiger top by Best). Padded roll bar. Converted to 12 volts. New battery. New starter relay. New exhaust system- 4 plus years. Has PTO transmission with shifter. Clean unrusted frame. New floor mat. Has seat belt for driver. Have non attached power take off and drive shaft. (rare). Will consider offers. Over $5,000.00 in new parts.”
