1956 Volvo TP21 Suggan Command Car **Status Unknown**

UPDATE: Status Unknown. Was on eBay.

“This car is quite complete, including one of the Swedish bikes (hand operated front drum and Bendix type rear brakes with leather hand grips and leather seat) that the Swedish Army used on them.

It even has the original oil can mounted on the fire wall under the hood and the original bike tool kit contents (adjustable wrench with tire changing tool handle, skeleton handled screw driver, little pry bar wrench and what seems to be a spoke wrench along with a tire pump stamped with the three crown insignia of Sweden) in the little tool box on the back of the bike.

The bike generator and headlamp are still in working order although the tail lamp appears to need a bulb. The car also has the original, operating Swedish Army radios on the counter top table in the back seat area.

The drive train is original and quite complete, all working well. The transmission is a un-synchronized four speed. The reverse lock out lever on the shifter and both independent dash controlled differential locks all work.

The engine always starts with no trouble no matter how cold or how long it sets unused. There is a cold weather hot water starting system dependent on another similar vehicle with the same system. The engine is a Volvo flat head six-cylinder gas engine. The engine and drive train are original.

It shows 84,400 plus kilometers on the speedometer which too is in working order. Four of the five tires are nearly new with probably less than 500 miles on them.”

T-15 Snow Weasel on eBay

• CATEGORIES: Other 4x4s • TAGS: This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE:  This is back on eBay

(11/17/2012) This appeared during one of my searches.  Looks fun so I thought I’d post it, but I couldn’t say whether it’s an accurate restoration.

“This fully restored T-15 serial number 184 has an excellent running engine and drives very nice. It runs and handles very well.

More photos and video of it in operation at: Military Vehicle Web
Military Vehicle Web will be listing on E-bay a very nice T-24 Weasel next week.

I collect WWII vehicles and equipment and open to offers.

It comes with WWII radio, headset, tools, skies/poles, sleeping bag, back pack, WWII white out military clothing, WWII boots with ice spikes, snow pack, tools and more. This is a very nice T-15 and the extra gear makes an excellent display. The engine compartment is fully detailed and extremely clean.

In 1941, the U.S. Military contracted with Studebaker Corporation of South bend Indiana to design, test and build a “top-secret” snow vehicle for commando use in Norway. As a result of this effort, the “Weasel Light Cargo Carrier” designated “T-15″ was the earliest production version. It had the engine in rear and driver in the front-center position. Approximately 750 were manufactured for the war effort.”

1943 Kubelwagon Mays Landing, NJ **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: Other 4x4s • TAGS: , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.

The starting bid is only $3500.  This appears in good shape to me (but I know little about these).

“These Include:  I added Round Metal Mirrors, Relocated tail light and license plate mount, Made Backing plate for Rear trunk lid, Fashioned / Made the wooden floor boards “Duck Boards”, Fashioned Screw Type windshield fold-down pin handles, Added Door seals and Windshield to Dash seal, Painted the steering wheel and All Shiny bolts that were showing, Installed new NAPA ignition switch, Installed new NAPA Horn button, Installed a new Coil, Changed the distributor (old one was electronic and troublesome) Fuel Filter, Air Filter, Oil and Filter, Changed gear oil, Added the front tow rope, Added Shovel, Made Headlight Covers, Added the graphics and Markings of Rommel’s 21’st PANZER DIVISION  / DAK or Deutsch Afrika Korps WWII with Palm Tree but Deleted the Swastika for obvious reasons.

* Graphics / Markings are either vinyl self stick OR Spray painted stencils. Either way, Graphics are easily removable with Acetone if desired *

I had the Engine removed and Transmission / Engine seals replaced by a professional Antique VW repair facility because I saw gear oil on the floor of the barn. Some say old VW’s mark their territory by leaking oil but this one does not.

KUBELWAGEN has a 1974 – 1600CC / 58HP Engine  < #AE 946851 >  that purrrrrs and a 1965 Beetle Chassis < Vin#145304936 >

It is Titled in NJ as a 1965 VW KUB CON (meaning Kubelwagen Convertible).  It was titled by me on June 7th this year. I have driven it about 300 Miles to shows and around town. It WILL go 70 MPH but I drive it at 45-50 MAX and laugh as people drive around me.

The Mileage shown on the Working ODOMETER is from a Donor Car and is 52,748 – This is NOT actual but is the number used for title purposes.  The Actual mileage this car has traveled in it’s current configuration since being built is estimated at 400. That would be prior owner who completed car 100 Miles ESTIMATED and MY personal ESTIMATE of 300 for a total of 400 ESTIMATED miles.

The car is a 2 DOOR in Suicide configuration to open backwards.
It has single element Headlights meaning NO HIGH BEAMS.
It has a Working GAS gauge, Speedometer, Odometer and Oil pressure gauges that DO NOT Light Up. I believe they have bulbs and can light up but do not at this time. I don’t think they are wired to light up.
It has a Push Button on the dashboard that energizes the Alternator to charge the battery.”

Fantastic Caverns Jeep Train

• CATEGORIES: Features, Other 4x4s, Women & Jeeps • TAGS: , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Craig forwarded the below excerpt and photo from his local coop paper.  I went to the website and spotted an additional photo (above). Here’s the location of the caverns.

Here is the text from Craig’s news article:

“Missouri is blessed with a number of remarkable show caves open to the public. One of the most unique is Fantastic Caverns, located just north of Springfield. The cave, which is served by Ozark Electric Cooperative, was first discovered in 1862 when a farmer’s dog crawled through what was then a narrow opening.

It wasn’t fully explored until 5 years later when a group of intrepid women responded to a newspaper challenge. What makes Fantastic Caverns so unique are the Jeep trams that carry visitors through the cave on a guided tour. This makes the 1 mile, 50-minute tour accessible to just about anyone, including seniors, children and those in wheelchairs.
Inside the cave are natural wonders created by the constant drip of acidic water through soluble limestone. Tour guides point out stalagtites and stalagmites, towering columns with colorful mineral stains, large deposits of flowstones and delicate draperies.

They also tell how the auditorium room was once used for weekly country music concerts in the 1950’s and mid-1960’s. A trip through Fantastic Caverns combines equal parts of awe and wonder with a lesson in history and science. In fact, the cavern is known as “Missouri’s oldest classroom.”

The tour costs $22.50 for adults and $14.50 for children. A discount for groups of 20 or more is available. The cave is open from 8 a.m. to dusk year-round except for Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas.

It isn’t  Willys, but it is a cool fire jeep.

“This is a very unique, 100% functional Fire Truck. The title reads as a 1994 Jeep Grass Fire Truck. The logos from the former Fire Dept is off, therefore you can put your own on it.All the lights & sirens work great! This is a rust free jeep. The entire under body and all the inside floors is rubber coated to prevent rust. This truck runs & drives like new, very nice jeep wrangler! This Fire Truck was well maintained and always kept indoors.

Due to it coming from the fire Dept. the title reads as rebuilt salvage because they rebuilt the Jeep into a Fire Truck. This truck was built heaver to hold the 100 + gallon water tank. This truck is a great investment to your Fire Dept or to you as a collector item, whatever you would like to use it as!
