About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“Rear PTO taken off 1947 CJ2A. Removed from vehicle in 2018 and was in good working condition, stored in heated shop. Front shift box, cover plate and boot, drive shaft, rear implement drive box. The governor was removed before I got the Willys because it was converted to an F-head engine by previous owner. It looks to be ok and spins freely. Would like to sell all together, $950 or best offer.”
(06/23/2020) Here’s a rare pairing. Somewhere I had an advertisement for Willys marine engines in a Florida newspaper from 1946, but I can’t find that ad at the moment.
“This unit has been in storage for a long time. The pistons are not stuck. Carburetor needs to be freed up and cleaned out. MB 564093 Marine Power Unit. 134 c.i.d.. This is a non running military engine that has been in storage. I see no cracks or breaks in the castings. I separated the engine and gear box so they could be mounted on my engine stands. After removing the oil pan and cylinder head and checking it out, I loosely assembled it just to keep things all together. The generator is a 6 volt, 40 amp. and the starter motor & bendix look good.
The “marine drive” gear box that was mounted on the engine has a multiple disc wet clutch with “knuckle in” engagement and by moving the lever in the other direction knuckles the clutch out, goes into neutral and will begin to apply a band brake as lever movement continues. Box is full of oil and looks good. The universal coupling behind the box is very heavy duty. The engine flywheel is drilled and tapped for a vehicle clutch assembly, but is still yet a clutch virgin. Starter gear shows very, very little wear. I will be happy to open things back up (engine and gear box) with a interested person present.”
(04/25/2020) The DJ-5 has the rear outboard springs. It may have a posi-traction rear. Given much fo the frame is boxed, this could be a good project frame.
“This is a like- new never installed Jeep CJ 3B tub and used DJ chassis.
The firewall is recessed to allow for a V-8 or different configuration than stock.
The tub and hood are made from galvanized material. The spot welds were covered to avoid oxidation.
The grille is an original one. I have no fenders or other parts.
The chassis is a Jeep DJ or 2 WD one, that is in very good condition, and is included.
Local delivery is negotiable.”
“Have an early Willy’s Go Devil engine which turns freely, head bolts all turn nicely, no visible cracks but I have not had it scanned. Wilson Foundry W4 mold, cast number 838632. Serial number behind oil filter was grown down or never there, believe that is because the engine was overhauled at some point in its life. Not sure on that. It came as a package when I purchased my 46 CJ2A and I don’t need it. Toss in 50 bucks and you can have the stand. Hope the pictures add value. If the post is up, it is available. Cash only, pick up only.”
Jim at CJ5.com tells me he has a variety of vintage jeep parts for sale. He has much more than is listed within the categories on the website. I suggest calling him to learn if he has what you need.
“For sale 1952 Jeep Willys Engine, Manual transmission and two stick transfer case. Engine was running, it smoked a little bit, transmission and transfer was working fine. The electrical it’s already converted to 12 Volts. I’m asking 500.00 or best offer. Hablo Español. I can throw an extra identical engine for free.”
“Koenig Model 100 PTO Winch for sale. $350 OBO. Winch, plate & cable, & chain drive, no other PTO pieces available. All parts move freely, winch is in good shape, just needs the PTO shaft and PTO transfer case. DM me to discuss delivery. Located in Northwest Arkansas.”
