This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. UPDATE: After Joe’s comment I examined what I believe was the dash. It was then I noticed that inside the “engine bay” was printed “Hotul”. Here’s the best pic I could get of that. My assumption is that at least part of this jeep was made from recycled material.
This well-loved toy jeep popped up on eBay. The lettering refers to a French/African oil refining company? I thought it was unique enough that I put a low bid in and one it. Anyone know more about this toy? It’s about 4″ long, so it’s not a large toy.
“Luzon Red 1948 VJ Jeepster. Willy’s dealerships would have these on display in the showrooms. Because the level of detail is so perfect, only 150 are known to have been made.
They were made by a company called Al-Toy in the ’40s, right after WWII. The Jeepster Touring Car is considered the last American touring car, and so it has a following all on its own as a collectible.
This particular toy in this condition is hard to come by. Most have broken or missing parts (front bumper, steering wheel, vent window frames, missing hubcaps). This toy is in great shape with no broken or missing pieces. Hand painted Jeepster decals on the fenders and the painted dash gauges.The hand painted white wall tires finish out the incredible detail that went into this toy.
Jeep measures about 15” long 5” wide and 5 ½” high at the windshield. It weighs a whopping 6 lbs. All four rubber tires move freely.
Also included are 3 dealership service pins (10, 15, and 20 years of service). Ships to the lower 48 states only.”
Anyone know anything about these unusual wood carvings? The buy-it-now price is $140, but the seller will take offers. They don’t look very big, but look pretty interesting.

Previously Posted February 11, 2019: These images were posted on Facebook and the toy jeeps attributed to Boeing. However, as a commenter pointed out below, these were actually produced by Western Toy Company in 1959. Here are some other examples.
(02/11/2019) These jeeps are pictured in front of the old Seattle Art Museum (we did field trips there in high school) which is inside Volunteer Park in Seattle, Washington.
“1949 Promo Car Willys Jeepster Cast Toledo Bronze Co Al-toys RARE 15″ Unrestored told they only made about 350 of these! guess costs were too high to produce & sell, were never sold retail, were made for dealer promo’s pretty rare piece!! a must for the serious collector! have only seen a couple of them for sale at 3000-3500 heres a nice unrestored example!

“DESCRIPTION OF ITEM: A very rare toy, This was made by Hinde & Dauch Paper Company in the early 1950s, Sandusky Ohio You can google the information, The body is made of paper cardboard and measures 10 1/2” long, 5 1/2” wide, 3” tall. The wheels are wood, It’s in very good condition with some scuf marks. Please see picture and judge for yourself on the condition.”
Bidding starts at $40 (down from $50). Though the illustration on the box suggests the is a slat grill MB, the grill in the box is the standard looking grille.

“Vintage 1940’s Era Pressed Steel Willys Jeep, Metal Wheels. Condition is “Used”. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail. Couldn’t find the makers mark it may have deteriorated over time, I am not an expert on steel pressed toys it looks like it was modeled after the Louis Marx Pressed steel jeeps but it is 6.5″ long and i have been told that Marx Jeeps were 11″ long. The steering wheel is missing and the pop-up window is missing”
