Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “953 willys truck 4 cyl standard 4 wheel drive has been completly restored several years ago and has sat for the past few years still looks good from 10 feet but upclose has few spots bed has nice wood still has 6 volt i got it running and drove a few miles and drove nice shifted good and stopped good shifted in and out of 4 wheel drive good but carb wasnt perfect and brakes drug a little so it will need some bugs worked out but overall is still a nice old willys interior is nice 7500 obo may trade for 72 and older vehichles no motorcycles call”

Needs some work, but the body looks solid.
“I have a 1948 Willy’s Overland Truck, it has 39000 miles, four cylinder three speed on the column, 6 volt system, two wheel drive that was only offered in the first three years of production. Truck had been sitting in a garage since mid 70’s before I purchased it a couple of months ago. The truck is all original, comes with all the factory extras, jack, tire chains, and helper springs. Needs fuel system cleaned and all the rubber lines replaced, motor turns over with starter after I put new battery in it. I found three rust spots about the 1/4″ each in floor when I pulled original rubber floor mat up. Original paint, and I have good Oklahoma title in hand, also have original owners manual that came with truck. ”

The April 1955 issue of Willys News published this photo. It’s a tour jeep truck for the Africa. It seems a little too open to me. Those lions look like they could easily leap inside.

Anthony is selling these trucks. We got to meet him during our tour of California in 2014.
“This is a great opportunity to own three Willy’s trucks. For sale are a 1955, and two 1959’s. One 59 runs good, street legal, blinkers, speedo, gauges work, could be daily driver. That truck will be sold with a truck cover. The 1959 will be sold with a rebuilt super hurricane flat head six, with water pump and possible clutch assemblies. Additionally, starter has been rebuilt; radiator have been boiled, cleaned and repainted, new tires, extra seats, doors. The trucks are basically all original with engines and transmissions. The 1959 has good transmission that doesn’t jump out of second (notorious for T-90’s), and both 4-wheel drive works well. Some body work will be needed, but the body is in decent shape for 1950’s. I am selling for I do not have the time to refurbish. Clean title on all three. (I will miss them).”

“47′ Willys 4×4 Monster! Great condition truck on a Blazer Chassis with 4″ lift. Awesome Chevy 454 with turbo 400 and Shift kit. Edelbrock Carb rebuilt. Runs Great! .Electric Fan,..Trans Cooler,.. Dual front shocks, New fuel tank and electric pump, New Power Steering pump, New Belts, Freshly wired with new Guages,…33’s. Just painted…Looks amazing! See it in Rathdrum at Elite Body Shop.”
