Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. The April 1955 issue of Willys News published this photo. It’s a tour jeep truck for the Africa. It seems a little too open to me. Those lions look like they could easily leap inside.

Anthony is selling these trucks. We got to meet him during our tour of California in 2014.
“This is a great opportunity to own three Willy’s trucks. For sale are a 1955, and two 1959’s. One 59 runs good, street legal, blinkers, speedo, gauges work, could be daily driver. That truck will be sold with a truck cover. The 1959 will be sold with a rebuilt super hurricane flat head six, with water pump and possible clutch assemblies. Additionally, starter has been rebuilt; radiator have been boiled, cleaned and repainted, new tires, extra seats, doors. The trucks are basically all original with engines and transmissions. The 1959 has good transmission that doesn’t jump out of second (notorious for T-90’s), and both 4-wheel drive works well. Some body work will be needed, but the body is in decent shape for 1950’s. I am selling for I do not have the time to refurbish. Clean title on all three. (I will miss them).”

Dual front shocks, New fuel tank and electric pump, New Power Steering pump, New Belts, Freshly wired with new Guages,…33’s. Just painted…Looks amazing! See it in Rathdrum at Elite Body Shop.”

Glenn spotted this truck.
“Rebuilt 250 engine. Tranny just gone through. 4×4. With complete plow. New water pump. Good running truck. Is used almost daily. Not perfect but in overall good condition. Perfect blend of antique, work truck, gets lots of looks and gets the job done. This thing gets more places than some of the newer 4×4’s and was used to pull one out that was stuck in the woods. Tough, good running, cool looking truck.”

(0803/2015) Body’s on a Blazer chassis.
“1948 Willys pickup mounted on Chevrolet k5 blazer chassis running gear new 410 gears 37 inch tires new gauges racing seats ratchet shifter NP 205 transfer case power steering disc brakes 350 Chevy automatic twelve thousand pound winch new paint this is a one of a kind 15000 or best offer”
Overall looks like some time and money was put into this rebuild, but because of that I don’t understand the front bumper choice.
“1951 Willys Overland pickup, complete restoration performed. Restoration includes original rebuilt original motor, rebuilt original transmission, rebuilt original axles, interior with original door panel’s new carpeting and racing seats with four point harness, oak bed. Frame sandblasted and custom paint. Body painted dark green metallic with black fenders. Body includes a one inch lift. Five new Pro Comp tires and wheels, drum brakes. Comes with extra parts collected during the restoration.”

Dan spotted this truck. It’s got the Tornado and not the Hurricane engine.

It doesn’t run
“For sale is a 1961 Willys parts or project pickup. It has the Original Super Hurricane engine, transmission, transfer case with high and low range, and front axle, with locking hubs, drive line and rear axle. The photos show the honest condition. The odometer reads 55,532 miles. While this pickup has been sitting for many years, it has many original, usable parts that can greatly enhance a quality restoration. Vehicle for sale as is.
