About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“For Sale:1958 Willys Jeep pickup 4×4, 226 ci super hurricane flathead 6 cyl engine, manual trans. Body is pretty good shape other than the rust in the floorboards(not a bad repair),little rust elsewhere in the truck. Rear window is cracked, otherwise glass is good. The engine should run with a good 6 volt battery, almost had it fired when the battery in it gave out comepletely. Good resto project or good to customize. Asking 1000.00 O.B.O”
I thought the idea of this project was interesting. It still needs some work.
“1953 willys overland custom. its on a dodge powerwagon chassis with a 318 and 727 transmission automatic. needs new tires, pait and interior, along with a master cylinder and passenger soft brake line”
“complete truck, the hood is in the bed.engine is seized.needs restored . Not title ,probably wouldnt be too hard to chase one down though looking for offers. NO offers of less than $500 cash or value will even be thought of. thanks.”
It sounds like the seller wants this to go to a good home.
“Running all original truck. Current registration. Clear title. 4X4, 4 cylinder, lumber rack that slides into the stake pockets, painless wiring harness professionally installed (still 6 volt).
I shopped for a long time to find a truck as straight as this one. I was not looking to restore to original, I just wanted a straight body. When I finally found the body I wanted, it came with a complete running truck. I started gathering parts (engine, tranny, axles, etc.) to modernize it but felt guilty about messing with a complete truck. I recently found another one and this time it was already sitting on a different frame, new motor etc. So now I can sell this truck and I hope to someone with intentions of restoration. It is in good shape so not much is needed but I will list what I think it needs:
Paint job (I have been sanding when I have time)
tires have good tread and hold air but they are looking old
rear window was cracked so I removed it in anticipation of replacing it
some tie rod ends need replacing (vibrations when you get to 40 mph or so)
If you plan on driving on the highway an overdrive will be needed
It has an am radio but it doesn’t work (I started removing it so you will see it is loose in the picture)
It has a heater that looks like it came from something else but looks as old as the truck. It was not hooked up so I took it out and went through it. The fan works but I found a small leak in the heater core that should be easy to solder.
It has an old spot light.”
It’s a nice truck. It sports an automatic and that is rare even among custom Willys trucks.
“Sell (or maybe trade for classic car, Harley, or labor to build an apartment or garage). We can work out the money up or down…this is a Daily driver or/and a great parade truck….All Chevy underneath…350 Chevy V-8, 700-R4 tranny, Camaro 10 bolt rear, 1956 Chevy front axle w/discs, very nice LOKAR brand shifter and Emergency brake set……eye catcher…….Patriotic theme……..must see to appreciate, $12,500 invested……”
Not perfect, as the dash is missing a couple items, but this truck looks good.
