About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
Looks like a legit Maverick, has the center console basket weave still, seats look legit, this has the Bullet trim, first year for that was ’61.
I was talking with a good friend he has had a Maverick since I think 1978. It’s gone through a few life cycles so its a neat vehicle. But he mentioned there might have been some sort of “Maverick” trim that went on the hood that said “Maverick”. I have not seen that before. I know they had that super special version with the early hockey trim, but this was mentioned as being maybe where the 4 Wheel Drive logo was. Just curious told him I would put it out there, and was only like Monday we talked.
Information from seller:
Mostly complete Willy’s wagon it is rusty but still has lots of potential would make a cool rat rod or whatever your heart desires motor is junk has no brakes does have clean Indiana title 1500$ cash or trades welcome
57 Wagon, has a lot here looks pretty complete but has some typical rust areas, it’s rough in spots, but good in others. The bottom tailgate maybe it was in the down position or even in the back of the rig the patina is off there but it looks original paint.
When you start to zoom into some of these pictures the things like the front rubber carper kit look original, seats are there in the front, the correct Speedo. Bumpers, wheels, hubs, interior parts, door handles all the way around. Trim looks complete, except recently someone picked the 4 Wheel Drive off the hood, I would ask them for those never know. But not super hard to get those.
Under the hood is a 226 with looks to be new plugs maybe, but the coil looks like they were trying to figure that part out. The horns look legit and are the dual note with the correct bracket for those. So when you dig in there is a lot here, but it’s a complete project at the same time.
Exhaust is flexible, there are remnants of a roof rack as well.
I like it.
While looking around trying to work on these pictures I ran across the Secure Purchase option that was listed on this one and that might be something to look into when buying a Willys, I quickly read through the deal, and it also seems like a great way to purchase a vehicle. This seller for example has a great rating as well, those are things that other places lack, some a lot more then others. But I feel you still cannot let your guard down when buying old rigs. One key area is to understand your States titling process and requirements, you will want to have that process down to make sure you have the ability to use this how you would like to.
Serial number was provided with this one, easy lift here to decode what’s shown:
5416825083
541 = Wagon
6 = 226 6 Cylinder
8 = 4WD
25083 = Serial Number puts this right at the end of ’56 and with everything shown makes perfect sense for a ’57. The S/N tracks the MFG dates not the year the rig was physically Titled. As most know these are all pre 17 Digit vin codes kinda could do what you wanted back then on the MFG Side.

NOS 1940s Willys Jeep Hood – Jeepster Wagon Pickup Truck – $80 Stoughton, MA
Very straight looking early Flat Grill Hood.
Information from seller:
Up for sale is a factory hood from an old Willys Jeep.
I believe this is a 1947 1948 1949 type hood used on Willys VJ Jeepster models, and likely Wagon & Pickup .
This has been in storage for 60+ years from an old Jeep dealership.
It has surface rust all over, but no rot. I don’t believe this was ever actually mounted to a vehicle. This was in storage for a long time (not weather tight). This could be media or soda blasted and cleaned up.
It has holes in the middle for chrome trim (not included).
Maverick F134 2WD OD. Not totally stock so have some room to make some changes as needed to this one.

Willys Wagon Rear Wrap Around Bumpers 1950’s $100 Renton, WA
