Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Wife says it’s hoggin up family time n must go. My 1957 Willy RatRod ! It has 5 inch chop top,ford rear end out of 67 econoline van, Grill is from a 38 ford pickup truck, front clip is a 72 Chevy pickup. The trans is out of a 64 impala. 350 motor.channeled 11 inches in the back and six towards the front. Make me an offer. Honestly hope I don’t get any good ones so I don’t have to sell it. I enjoy gettin my kicks around town.”

“1951 willys wagon jeep overland 4×4, V8 Chevy small block 265, runs and drives around the block, 3 speed manual, twin stick transfer case, 4 core radiator, all badges all glass all door panels, good wood. I’m moving and don’t have room for it.”

“It has a 3 stick 4-wheel drive, 229 Chevy V6, and 1-ton Timken rear axle. It has a sound body, with surface rust only, and includes the original wheels. It is licensed and titled. Runs good and is ready for restoration or whatever you like.”

“I am selling my 1956 Willys Wagon 4×4 jeep . it has all of the original running gear. The engine is the hurricane 226 6 cylinder. 3 speed transmission and twin stick transfercase. It starts up but needs a fuel pump to stay running. I replaced the master cylinder and both front wheel cylinders. I also have new rear wheel cylinders. this is and running project. of the ad is up I still have it. has all glass, 3 windows have cracks. drive side door, passenger side windshield, tailgate glass. NO TITLE, bill of sale only. it is not in the DMV system. $1700 firm. see contact info above. I prefer text. prefect for crawler restored or rat rod. has some rust in the rocker panels.”

A wagon with a family history.
“Recent restoration. The goal was to keep it looking original while upgrading it to be a more modern driver. It is comfortable to drive on the freeway now.
This has been in my family since 1962 when my Dad bought it as a nearly new vehicle. I still have the title from then. As a result, this Jeep is all there right down to the original oak floor slats and owners manual. I learned to drive in this Jeep. It has never been in an accident. I have a pile of records, receipts and other stuff for it.
Before the restoration it had 153,168 miles on it. There are only a bit over 3,700 miles on it since.
302 V8 (balanced and blueprinted) with C4 automatic
Power front disc brakes
Saginaw steering
New rear axle and brakes (9″ rear end with positrac)
Newer front axle with Warn hubs
Custom 25 gal fuel tank
Rewired including modern fuse panel
Electric wipers
3rd brake light mounted high like newer cars
All new rubber (windows, etc)
New upholstery (all but front seats are original)
New radial tires
Original gauges look an work great

This is a 1957 Willys Jeep Civil Defense Panel Truck. This is the RAREST of all the
“Specialty Trucks” Willys made over the years. Only 14 of these were ever made, under
10 of these are still in existence. This truck has under 20K miles, is 4WD & in excellent
condition. Serial # verifies this special build, vehicle has spent most of its life garaged.
