Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This looks nicely restored.
“RESTORED WAGON, MARINE RED , CLOTH UPHOLSTERY, REBUILT 6 CYLINDER ENGINE-SUPER HURRICANE, 12 VOLT ELECTRIC CONVERSION, NEW WINDOWS, 16 INCH RADIAL TIRES, HORN WORKS, REBUILD TRANSMISSION, COMPLETE BRAKES INCLUDING LINES. I HAVE ALL THE RECEIPTS FOR WORK. 10 YEAR PROJECT.”

This is an old Air Force Wagon that, according to the seller, was modified with a V8 by the Air Force. It’s a neat bit of history. Apparently Mercury supplied motors for an unknown number of swaps into wagons.
“This is a pretty rare super solid Willys Wagon. She came from an Air Force base in Wyoming and was used as a crash tender. The original engine was not fast enough for the military so a Mercury flathead V8 was adapted quite nicely to the original drivetrain. I couldn’t tell you you when she was last in service but I know this vehicle was stored in a hanger for quite some time. The body is extremely solid! This is an easy retoration. She runs great and drives straight. I have spent years collecting parts for this beauty and everything goes with her. Way too much to list, but my asking price hardly covers the parts and transportation costs to get her to Syracuse. If you’ve been seriously looking for a Willys Wagon to restore, this is the one. I searched the country to find her. Please don’t ask me to sell the engine separately. The military bought these vehicles with the intention of swapping motors and Mercury provided a limited amount of them and I wouldn’t want to ruin the historic significance of that.”

“1951 Willeys Jeep two door wagon. Rebuilt 383 Chrysler with rebuilt automatic transmission 727, slap stick shifter, super clean, US mags with Goodyear tires. 1969 Dodge rear end and 1962 Ford Falcon front end. $6,000 or best offer.”

(03/22/2013) Is this a Maverick? It’s got two tone paint and two tone interior.
“This a 1961 Willy’s Wagon with original 230 flat-head six cylinder engine. I have replaced many general parts. It has been painted and new interior. Engine and transmission are very strong. This vehicle starts and drives great. You may also make a reasonable offer.”

Nice looking wagon.
“1957 Willys Overland Show Winner
1500 miles on complete restoration in 2001. This beauty sits on a 1979 TransAm subframe with snowflake wheels complete with Willys emblems and power front disc brakes. Specially built 318 Mopar with all the goodies: Comp Cam, Edelbrock intake and new 600cfm carb, ceramic headers etc . Lake style side exhausts. Hurst ratchet shifter on 904 tranny. Leather seats with contrasting tweed upholstery. A/C, tilt, p/s, pb, Ididit wiring. All the glass is bronzed, not filmed. Complete receipts available for all work.
This is an 11 year old restoration and needs only minimal work to return to stunning condition. Drive it home anywhere. Come take a look and test drive.”
