These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “ENGINE RUNS BUT FUEL PUMP JUST WENT OUT, STILL STARTS WITH FUEL IN CARBURATOR. 2 TRANSMISSIONS ONE IN THE JEEP, ONE EXTRA, BOTH STUCK OUT OF GEAR TOLD THEY NEED POPIT BALLS AND SPRINGS ( HAVE THEM ) BODY AND FRAME APPEAR SOLID , VERY LITTLE ACTIVE RUST, THIS OLD SURVIVOR IS READY TO GO INTO THE BUSH WITH TRANNY FIX AND MINOR ELECTRICAL. ALL NEW TIRES ON THE GROUND. NO SPARE WHEEL.LOTS OF SPARE PARTS TOO MANY TO LIST.”
“1953 willys cj3a jeep. clear ohio title. runs and will drive but master cylinder failed, so no brakes. I don’t consider it road worthy even though it does run and drive. needs a total restoration and will need a replacement body tub, fenders etc. does have newer tires and tubes on repainted rims. Nice thing about it is its all original drivetrain, flathead motor etc. has rare optional heater unit. comes with extra parts too. If your looking for your next restoration project this is a good start. will need to be towed. asking $1,400”
UPDATE: This was for sale in Feb of 2017. The VIN puts this as a late 1956, not a ’57.
Starting bid is only $460 and the buy-it-now $900. The appears to be that much value in parts. This is an early one #56337 10981.
“Willys DJ 3A 1957 in restorable condition! Two many projects this one goes. Orginal DJ with above average body condition. In storage by me for years all body metal, 327 engine needs torn down and built , automatic chevy mated trans, custom drive line,rear drive axle and wheels, front I beam axle and wheels most gauges, radiator chevy ,engine mount adapter plate, headlights , nice windshield frame no glass with vacume operated wipers Land R, many no top, booklets that came with this willys orginally excellent st. rust in normal positions for age. Sitting on blocks covered for years. No fuel tank, These were used to transport people at airports, mail and other delivery ect. it is not a Surry model. I also have a L134 basic parts engine for sale also in another listing on Ebay. It does not roll and tires are shot at least will take a flat trailer and winch to load.”
Seller swapped out the engine and the dash from an Isuzu.

“Willy’s Kabota conversion kit. This is a conversion kit to install a Kabota V3 series diesel in your Willys or early CJ. This kit is from Overland Diesel in Canada. This is the complete kit. I have the required flywheel but will need some machine work and the specs are on Overlands web site. Changed directions in my project so offering this kit at a savings to who ever may be interested. No import fees or duty tax. Almost any info or questions can be answered on Overland Diesels web site or contact me. I know some and have some experience in this conversion, not all but could probably answer any questions you may have. Boost your HP and torque plus get great mileage from your Jeep”
