About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
We had a good day of work on Patterson today. First up, we confirmed that all the lights, blinkers, and even the hazards work. The brake lights don’t work yet, but that’s related to the master cylinder. I’ve ordered a dual master cylinder system from R&P, which ought to solve the brake issues.
The last electronic issue to debug is the heater motor. That’s on deck for tomorrow morning.
We took a look a closer look at Patterson’s engine and concluded it needs a full rebuild. There are multiple areas of pitting on the piston walls. Examples:
Wall of piston #4. Several instances of pitting.
Pitting on #2
So, we turned our attention to Rusty’s engine, one that is marked as a rebuild. Ann tackled the cleaning of it. It was supposed to be a “good enough” job, which she surpassed.
Casey shared a report over email on the 2017 Rally last week. This was the eighth year and, once again, was a big success. There’s even talk of expanding it a few days.
Over fifty people from fourteen states in twenty-three vehicles attended this year’s event . Twenty vehicles hit the trails, with five break downs.
They’ve already scheduled next year’s event for May 18-20, 2018. Once again, it will be held at the Red Cliff Lodge, a beautiful location. Learn more at the Willys Rally site.

(05/13/2017) Jim spotted this one. It includes a soft top and half top. I’m not sure what the seller means by “canvas top with doors which isn’t bowed”.
“Included is a new white canvas top with doors which isn’t bowed. Also a half aluminum top.”
“1947 WILLYS JEEP CJ2A I’ve Owned it for 14 Years, last driven in 2005, sat for 11 years while I was deployed. It is not frozen but needs lots of work; Needs New Body Tub, Brakes, for sure.
Ready for Restoration now, but Too Much Work For Me! I purchased this JEEP while on active duty in San Diego, CA, from a garage, prior to that it served at Camp Pendleton and Oceanside Fire Dept. This JEEP has a Willys flathead 6 cylinder Hurricane Engine, and a PTO. Wife said it’s gotta go soon. Make me an offer! Will deliver on my flat bed utility trailer within 50 miles for free. Title in Hand, Odometer has been broken for 14 years?”
“WWII Converto brand dump trailer that was towed behind the jeeps for construction work on the islands for runways and the like. It is in excellent condition except for the tow hitch as the eye was removed and a fork hitch installed. Original tailgate and data tag. To operate you pull the lever for the tailgate (with rope from jeep or tractor if you want), then you pull the lever for the dump lock. It is engineered to dump via gravity, very simple and rugged.
What can you buy today for a dump trailer of this high quality and historic value for this price?”
