About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“Last person bailed on our agreement. would like find it a new home before storing it for the winter!!
This m38a1 is slightly modified it has a about a 3 inch shackle lift with upgraded springs, a 1978 buick v6, a warn over drive unit, has been converted to 12v and the seats were jus redone. Everthing else is stock. Body is in above average shape compared to the others on craigslist but it is not a beauty queen. This jeep has done everything I’ve wanted it to do.”
“1948 Willys Jeep. Complete Jeep, engine turns over but not runing. Usual rust for a sixty-eight year old vehicle. Has roll bar and seats. All original. Has the original 4 cylinder Willys engine.”
“1949 Ford GPW/Willys/Jeep
Not sure exactly which it is don’t have a title for it and it has parts from both looking to trade for a pickup truck or jeep any trades considered or $3500 obo”
Seth is looking for a steering wheel from a late 60’s FSJ. But he’s not all that interested in paying for shipping. However anyone has one for sale along hhis upcoming road trip from Tampa to Moab via I-10 please let him know.
An adjustable column isn’t necessary. Here’s an example.
David Magana bought this CJ-5 out of Arnold, California. He was wondering if anyone recognized it or had any previous history about it?
“Though I am reluctant to sale it, I unfortunately have to get rid of my super clean 1966 Jeep CJ-5A Tuxedo Park model with only 49,000 original miles. This is a rare, classic, mostly stock jeep with the exceptions of a few practical add ons such as the winch, tow bar (comes with tow lights), newer BF Goodrich 31″x10.50×15 all terrain tires, full cage roll bar, and back spare tire carrier with 2 nice jerry cans. Even has the old vintage heater, Tuxedo Mark 4 chrome emblems, etc. This was the first year of the Buick v-6 dauntless 225 motor. The jeep also has a newly rebuilt 3-speed transmission and new clutch which cost me $2000 dollars (I have the receipt from the transmission shop with a 1 year warranty) and new exhaust system. The body and paint are very nice, with no dents and no rust. The interior floor has been rhino lined black, the black interior seats are perfect with no rips. I have a really nice black back seat for it, but it is not mounted in the rig. The soft top and doors are almost new. Runs great, shifts great, and brakes are good. This vehicle is a really affordable way to drive something which is very fun,(feels like you are driving and old tractor), cool and classic. Come check it out and you will love it. The jeep is ready for your next adventure, whether it be to the store, beach, or mountain pass. My loss your gain.—I will add more photos tomorrow.”
“1971 Jeepster Commando 83k, Buick V6, 4 speed manual, 4wd with hi-low and lockout hubs, runs, drives, stops. Not perfect, but in really good shape, drives like an old Jeep should. Larger than the old CJ’s so it’s definitely more stable. Includes white hard top, Kayline (black) soft top, hell creek suspension, 31″ tires, with brand new spare not even mounted yet, Mickey Thompson wheels, front disc brakes, new rear brakes, (shoes, drums and wheel cylinders), spare tire carrier (included but not mounted). Black hi-back seats in front with folding seat in rear. New Battery, Alternator, Voltage Regulator, transmission mount. Not exactly a rare thing but definitely uncommon, always draws interest whenever I drive it. Currently tagged as an antique so it does not require inspection, costs less than $200 a year to insure.
Please include a phone number in your email or I will NOT respond. If the ad is up it is still available. No trades, tire kickers or low-ballers. Seriously, if you send me an email w/o a contact or asking if it is still available I will just delete it, If interested please read on. . .
Overall it is is very good shape for what it is; a 40 y/o utility vehicle; I drive it approximately once a week w/o issue. It’s not a daily driver, and not really appropriate for highway travel. It will do 60mph, but that doesn’t mean it’s a good idea…
As far as I know I am the fourth owner, it was originally from Chicago, I bought it in NJ a little over 2 years ago where it spent the last few years living in a shed. It does have some rust, especially in the rear cargo area. The frame has surface rust, but no rot, wire brush it, navel jelly it and coat with your favorite rust inhibitor.
The engine is an odd-fire V6, it’s very dirty, but pulls strong, starts easily. I have installed a battery disconnect for when it’s just sitting.
The windshield has a gouge on the passenger side where it looks like somebody ran the wipers with no rubber on them, it’s ugly but still works. The wiper blades are new along with the rubber along the door windows. The windshield washer system is incomplete and non functioning. The pump motor is buried up under the dash but it is not wired in and the washer fluid reservoir bag is old but still in the engine compartment.
It is being offered as is no warranty, if the ad is still up then it’s still available.”
Don’s selling this very early CJ-3A. Looks like the drive train is ready to go.
“1949 Willys CJ3A. Very early production three digit serial number in the 300 range. Axle build dates 11-48. Windshield date 12-48. Probably built late 1948 or early 1949. Nice frame and very solid body. A couple of rust areas in the tool box, under the fuel tank, and front floors but should be able to fix without pulling the body but we use it as is. Original heater works. Shows 24,000 miles but unsure if they are original. Have title. New or rebuilt parts include:
Rebuilt replacement engine with new pistons, rings, bearings, gaskets, oil lines, crank turned.
New clutch,pressure plate,throwout bearing.
New fuel tank,fuel pump,fuel lines,rebuilt carb.
New master cyl,wheel cyls,shoes,lines.
New water pump,hoses.
New rear hubs.
New wiring harness,voltage reg,rebuilt starter,generator.
Other misc parts included.
Needs paint, tires, and synchronizer in transmission.
Very nice early Willys CJ3A Jeep.”
