About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
I found this great old mailer on eBay. It was likely published at the end of WWII, as there are no references to the CJ-2A. You can learn more about Hyman Berg here.
Here’s the front side of the mailer:
I’ve split the front of the mailer into sections so it can be better seen. This part shows a closeup of the front and back of mailer when folded:
British soldiers are being transported over the river Orne.
“approx. 5″ x 6” Typewriter Release glued to back of photograph Stae Department issued 1944 Very good vintage condition with only minor waves or creases if any Please see images”
Has a few updates, but there’s some stock MB still here.
“1943 Willy Military Jeep, complete overhaul motor-transmission & transfer case – complete overhaul of all brakes-new seats-12v system==clean title=( have kept black tag up to date ) Run Fine (Serious inquire only)”
“Selling this jeep to help pay for LDS mission. Body has a few dents on the corners and has about a quarter sized hole rusted out on the driver side rear corner and by the driver side door. The soft top is pretty much useless. Needs a little work but it runs well and sounds amazing. It has a Clifford 6=8, msd ignition control, new battery, new U-joints, and a recently rebuilt carburetor”
“1946 Willy’s Jeep with Title. Was running when it was parked about five years ago. Engine is still free. Have Title. VIN# J76896
Buyer pays $55.00 Documentation Fee, Taxes, Title, Transfer and Registration Fees at time of pickup. Driver’s License and proof of Insurance required.”
“jeep is in very good shape. no rust holes in tub. one spot of surface rust below passenger door. chevy 283 engine. runs well. 4 speed trans and twin stick transfer case. 4 wheel drive works. no top but has snaps and brackets for one. rebuilt rochester carb. “
Needs some work and has some civilian parts, but there’s still enough here to check it out.
“1942 Willys MB body on CJ2A frame. Runs and drives well. All it would need to be a driver is the drivers side rear blinker replaced front drivers blinker and the brakes need adjusting. Body is quite solid for a 74 year old Jeep. Engine runs and shift through the gears but could probably use a tune up. Can be towed easily using the attached tow bar even at freeway speeds. ”
“1946 Jeep Willy’s – rolling chassis, several extra parts, some parts are questionable for reuse (as shown in pictures), No title and no identification plate, bought jeep for parts years ago, tires are rotting but will hold air for short time, also have an extra jeep frame that is not in the pictures. ”
(11/17/2015) This appears to be the same jeep that was sold a few years ago, but it’s condition appears to be worsened. If it has the “314” on the fenders, then it is the same one.
“1954 Willys Jeep it is actually a Mp38a it has a Buick 231 odd fire V6 with power steering also has headers. It is 3 speed manual with twin stick transfer case At one point it was the brookville Fire dept. grass unit. It is great running and driving jeep it has a lot of new front end parts on it. I took the gas tank out that sets under the drivers seat and put one underneath the back put its not hooked up yet I put a boat tank in the back just to be able to move it around you can drive it it could also use floor pans it has had all new rear tub section replaced with little work this could be a very nice jeep. ”
