1957 Truck w/Trailer Sandy, OR $5000

I’m sure someone out there is proud of this trailer, but honestly, if I brought that home to Ann, I’d be sleeping in it alone …. with all my belongings. Of course, there’s that old saying: there’s a trailer for every traveler. Okay, I just made that up.

“57 Willys Jeep that is completely original! low miles! runs and drives but need carburetor work.
will come with a 1961 homemade teardrop trailer. 5000 for both”

1955 CJ-5 Ada, MI **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: CJ5 This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2000.

Looks like there’s value here.

“For sale is my ’55 Willy’s Jeep. It’s a straight, clean, completely rust-free original from southern CA. I bought it about 15 years ago with the intention of restoring it to like new condition – however the the project was started and never finished. As a result, the CJ is not currently running – the primary reason of which is that it has no wiring (I pulled out to replace). The Hurricane F-134 engine turns over, and everything else was in working order before disassembly. It has a the original T-90 transmission case mated to a T-18 transfer case.

I decided I didn’t have the time/dedication to commit to restoring this truck, however this remains an excellent project for someone who does. You won’t find a better base truck to work on, and this is the first year CJ5 ever produced (which are both the reasons why I originally bought it). Tough to find a truck that isn’t all modified and jacked-up – and I believe the red paint is the original believe it or not.”

“We purchased this vintage ’49 Willys truck about 7 years ago to add to our array of classic trucks intended for full restoration. We have only driven it around on our homestead periodically during that interim, putting less than 50 miles on it.

We bought it at a high price even without body or paint work done because the previous owners had done an incredible amount of mechanical type work in that restoration process stretching from 1997 to 2005. The truck mostly sat until we bought it in 2007-8 period into the tune of about $10,000 total invested into the truck.

In the paperwork received with it there was a thick stack of receipts of work done. Like a dummy, I threw away some of them before realizing what the receipts were. I have gone through the many line items of the receipts to come up with the below list. The line items of work during the restoration process was about $8,400, but the total paid on account receipts were over $15,000, so we evidently do not have all the line item work receipts. It does appear this may have included the cost of the truck as well, but it is hard to tell. The old guy that had the work done had hardly driven the truck with low miles since the work was done according to his relative from whom we purchased the truck.
