What’s the contraption in front of the body? Is that PTO related?
“1947 Willys CJ 2A. Tore apart to restore, my son lost interest. Great restoration project or for parts. Serious inquiries only!!”

Looks to be a DJ-3A body on a CJ 4WD chassis. While a true DJ-3A installed on a 4WD chassis from the factory has yet to be found in the US, the DJ-3A group did learn about a DJ-3A with 4WD that was sent overseas. So, we are wondering if one or more were sold in the US as well.
“Frame off restoration, motor rebuilt, new axle seals and bearings, all new brakes, will lock up all 4 wheels. Body in really good shape, very usable, solid floor.
Runs and drives great, still needs lights wired, gages, a roll bar, maybe a windshield. All the hard work is done, ready for finishing touches.
$2500 or best offer, more than that invested.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1500.

Could be a good price.
“Selling my Warn 8274. I bought it last year and had plans of restoring it and putting it on my fj40. I have since sold the fj and no longer need it. When I bought it, the guy operated it for me on his Jeep and it worked properly. Dont have any other history to give. I ordered a decal replacement from Warn that I am including as well as the roller guide. Has good cable and hooks/hardware in the plastic bag. Should be ready for use or great base for a restoration project.”

When loose deep sand was encountered, the ‘Jeep’ had to pull both the yacht and the sedan. [ed note … this caption was included in the original article]
Shepard went on to write an article for Wide World Magazine titled First to Sail the Sahara. An 1800 mile journey with his wife and family in a sand yacht over the Desert in 1956 (it’s also been republished as a book, but this may be a modern item). The second, Sahara Adventure, is an actual book and probably a more complete account of the trip. I’ve just bought it, so I’ll report on it once I read it.
Guy shared this Jeep Timeline video that marks the 75th anniversary of Willys/Jeep vehicles (of course if one counts the Bantam, it’s year 76, but I won’t go there … )
