Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. John Escobar bought a few FCs last month. He recently acquired a few more through a trade. He writes, “I got the Bug! Just traded a Snowmobile I had for three fc’s and flatfender jeep ! he collection goes on! The one fc 170 is real nice and originally from Washington State. Was used n the area as a water truck. (government owned ) Parts will be for sale this spring. Can’t wait to get started on them. Spring can’t come fast enough!”

It has a chromed out 350 crate , auto, a/c, power disc, nice sounds-etc. This car drives great, but just a driver, not a show car. “We have a rare 1958 willys fc 170. Cosmetically a little rough. Runs and drives. Would make a great restore project. Has working auxiliary pto on transmission, options are endless. Great farm truck or hunting wagon. Bought with lost title so there is no title. Four wheel drive works. Located in Pagosa Springs Co.”

“Fully restored 1962 kaiser jeep willys cj-5 4×4 every things new or rebuilt. Only thing original are the seats. Over $12000 invested just in parts! Agreed value through haggeety classic insurance is $15,000. Asking 12,000 obo due to its currently not running carb needs adjustments made and breaks need work or bled. This is a very beautiful one of a kind jeep! Only has 500 miles on full restore!”

“Has the correct 4cyle fhead engine looks sharp fiberglass body never need to worry about body rust again steering has been completely redone the is by far the easiest driving cj3b you will ever come across very tight. Frame off resto Frame has a coat of osfo as well as paint this thing runs like a top. 4wd great. does not have top. would like to trade for 1950’s truck in good shape or toyota land cruiser. This truck is not junk so don’t call me with yours. If its not running or its a rust bucket save both of your times.”

“I am selling my 1974 Right Hand Drive DJ5 Jeep. I bought it to deliver mail but never got to use it as my route assignment got changed. It drives like a champ! It is automatic transmission with manual steering. It has a brand new engine (6 cyl AMC 232) and transmission(727-TF). The body has a little surface rust but nothing is rusted through. It has a spare tire and several other extra parts that were given to me when I bought it. Like a brand new in the box set of brake shoes. It has good tires! I have a clear title. It is Texas registered and inspected thru March 2015. It has a radio and speakers. Seat is in good shape with no holes or tears and comes with a mail tray that you could remove and replace with a passenger seat.”
