This M-170 was spotted in Massachusetts by Joe’s son-in-law Anthony Rueck. He’s a truck based out of New Jersey.
Unfortunately, the caption has been removed from the back of this great photo.
I believe this shows a French soldier repairing a jeep.
This photo appeared earlier this year, but was sold with an ACME photo and slightly different caption.
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
“You are bidding on a Ford GP prototype grill. It needs some repair to be perfect but I’m including the parts needed for the repair. It’s in great shape. The Head light brackets that are sometimes removed are also present. Good luck and happy bidding. Due to size exact shipping to be determined at the end of the auction.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $9000.
Looks like a nice truck.
“What I have is a 47 Willy’s Jeep truck, built in Toledo at Willy’s Overland.. It’s a 2wd truck. 1947 was the first year for the truck and the 2wd ended in 50, and they went with all 4wd. units. The drivetrain is all mid 60’s Chevy, sbc v-8, Powerglide(2sp) trans, 10 bolt posi rear end. The frame is original, straight axle, with new king-pins, w/cyl., frt shocks, rear air-shocks, electric fuel pump, electric cooling fan, tires and battery. This truck was originally built in the 70’s and has many “old school” innovations, crank-open sun roof, 8-track AM/FM radio, power antenna, air-shocks, all Stewart Warner gauges, new gray leather bench seat, rear Sleelie wheels w/baby moons, and center dump exhaust manifolds.
This was a frame-off resto, painted frame with new fuel and brake lines. The body is covered in a nice patina nostalgic Lacquer paint, not a spot of rust.! The front end, hood, grille, fenders are all welded together and filled to form a sweet “tilt frt end”. The rear bed is a thick white oak, and the bed rails are rough sawn red oak. The tail-lights are 73 Vega. This is a “one of a kind” unique truck, 1st year build, 2wd., fun smooth driver, get’s a lot of attention at shows. Truck needs very little to be totally done. A must see if sounds interesting ! Asking $9,000 obo. Check the pics, more if requested. Just putting this out there, have another interest in mind. Thanks, John.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4500
