About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
Lots of updates here, though I can’t tell if the suspension has been updated.
“1955 Willys Jeep M38A1/CJ5 Jeep. This Jeep was built for crawling and climbing. Buick 231 V6 engine with auto turbo 350 transmission, Dana model 18 transfer case, Dana 44 rear end w/ locker, Dana 35 front with locker, 33×13.5×15 Interco super swamper tires (2 brand new), new Bilstein 5150 shocks, 5.38 gearing, new best top tiger top w/doors, new windshield frame and hinges, plus many, many more parts. Racing seats up front, new bench seat in rear. All with harnesses. Currently registered until Oct 2010. I hate to sell it but we don’t really rock crawl anywhere and that is what this is built to do. I am asking $4500 or best offer. Call Robert @ 760-696-1661”
Here’s a positive review of some retread tires from the IH8MUD website.
In other news, IH8MUD purchased Rockcrawler.com in October. IH8MUD, led by Brian “Woody” Swearingen, plans to take over the site, as well as related domain names, content and Service Marks and move forward with new ideas, a new layout and plenty of new information and content.
I received an email from Phil last night with pics of this beautiful flattie attached. The jeep is a 1952 CJ-3A with a 4.3l Chevy Vortex with a C4 Auto and Dana 20 with a Terra Low gear set.
It also has a 44 frt and a 9″ Rear with ARB’s. I’m sure with that drive train he has all that he needs to explore the areas near his northwest home.
In the last two pics you’ll note the custom tranny/tc cross member. Phil built this and has added a skid plate that extends from the engine back past the transfer case. Thanks for sharing Phil!
As mentioned above, Mike created this site to follow the build of his CJ-6 as well as other CJ-6s. There’s plenty to read and links off to other sites as well. You can also view his trailer blog here.
That’s one dirty windshield! The jeep looks rust free on the outside. This might be a good deal if the jeep will start.
“1962 Willys CJ5, been parked under a shed for 10 years. When parked was in running condition, motor and transmission are both original. Have title. A second 1962 Willys CJ5 is also incuded, it is in pieces and was being used for parts, all parts are still with jeep. Great for someone looking for a restoration project.”
“MUST SEL by January first! Getting a divorce and need the money for a lawyer! Happy new year to me! Make me an offer! No “reasonable” offer refused! Will be posting pictures soon! Call 920-470-1198 or email.”
“WANTED – Narrow stock wheels for an early cj2a, cj3a or military jeep. Must be 15 inch by 4.5 wide (skinny wheel) on a 5 hole, 5.5 bolt pattern. Will pay top dollar. Rob @505.203.6528.”
I believe this is a Dana 25. This would be a quick and easy way to upgrade to a limited slip in the front, assuming the gear ratio matches what you have.
“Willys Jeep front end with brakes, fits willys jeep cj-5 and M-38, m-38a, 1944-1953 upgraded limited slip upgrade, in very good shape, extra seals for knucles. Local pick up only or pre paid shipping”
