About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
This is highly customized. One of the more unusual customizations is the unusual change to the grille.

This looks a good price on a CJ-2A. This is listed as a ’43, but I see nothing to indicate that this is anything other than a CJ-2A.

“Willys Jeep – 1943 MB Jeep in excellent condition. Restored several years ago in Arizona and has been garage kept except when used for hunting, which has been minimal. Jeep has no visible holes or rust. It’s in need of a good wash job and detail. Used only three times in the last four years and it’s time it goes to a new home. Engine is 4 cylinder, 3 speed transmission, 4X4. Watson, manual lock out front hubs, Viking Winch with electric remote control, new battery, brake shoes replaced by brake shop – less than 100 miles ago. Has a tow bar, leather seats, a small bikini top, couple of gun holders, and a pair of 5 gallons gas cans and holders on the rear end, next to the spare tire. Mileage,31496, is what shows on the speedometer, don’t have a clue if iit’s accurate.
I bought the jeep from my father in law who is the one who restored the jeep 35-40 years ago. It was restored in Arizona and has only been in Colorado for the past 4 years, but is always garaged. Runs great, starts easy. I don’t know of anything not working on the jeep. It just sets around and isn’t getting used so it’s time for it to move on. Transportation, will be up to the new owner. Payment will need to be made in full prior to title exchange and transportation.”
(10/22/09) There’s something growing out of the driver’s side fender ….. This seller is selling about 5 other jeeps (CJ-5s) on ebay as well.
“1946 Willys cj-2a column shift jeep. No engine is installed, just the original transmission and rest of drivetrain. Unfortunately, no serial number plates have been left on this jeep. Many very good parts like the hood, grill and fenders. Complete column shift linkage and working transmission is also present. Frame is very good, except for one of the front horns where some metal was welded on to reinforce one side. Looks like it should be removable with frame remaining intact. Snowplow lift is bolted on. The body has rust in the front floors and on the side bottoms. Body can be restored with repairs in the front floor area and the right rear corner. Rear area is pretty good and amazingly not dented up.”
UPDATE: Still available .. the price has jumped to $5450. This was in Hauser, Wa, but sounds like it has been moved to Bellevue, Wa.

It runs and drives. The motor appears to be an inline six of some kind. And, where did they put the radiator? It’s got hydraulic swing clutch and brake pedals. There was some work done to this jeep at some point.
“46 Willys Navy Jeep, chevy 6cyl , jeep trans and T-case, nice alum hard top &doors. This jeep has been sitting for years but runs and drives”

UPDATE: Colin reports that he purchased this Jeep and is enjoying it a lot! Congrats! He also reports below that the original date listed by the seller as 1956 was incorrect and that it was actually a 1960 Surrey.
“Production of the 2-wheel drive Willys DJ3A model began in 1956 and continued until 1964. The DJ3A utilized the 4 cylinder “Go Devil” engine, T90 side-shift transmission, and a Dana 23 rear end. The DJ3A surrey was marketed to resorts and as a fun beach buggy. This dj-3a gala surrey was Owned by 20th Century Fox where it was used in a few beach movies. Annette Funicello, Frank Sanatra etc.. Sold to Pioneer Garage in 1982 where it was totally redone. down to the frame and sat on display in the pioneer jeep showroom on Washington St. in Peabody Ma. Until purchased in 5/09 to me when the dealership closed its doors forever. It runs and drives awesome, 3 speed on the column, a true collectible. I have pictures and documentation from 20th century fox showing the vehicles history there. Also I have pictures of the jeep with Annette and Frank in the vehicle. Mileage is around 2000 miles, although California determined it as a undetermined value amount because the gauge glass was sun faded and not readable. When you see this vehicle you will know the mileage to be true.”
Here’s two videos I found today. The first video is a compilation of color footage that follows the landing at D-Day. I thought it was very good. I believe a little of this footage also was used in the WWII in HD series that was shown on the History Channel (some great footage there).
This video also includes a jeep called Hocus Pocus Focus. I searched for the phrase Hocus Pocus Focus, thinking I might come up with some meaning for it, but the only thing I found was that a band would name themselves Hocus Pocus Focus several decades after WWII.

The second video is a nicely shot video that shows a rebuilt 1943 GPW and trailer. It’s one of the better videos I’ve seen on YouTube in terms of quality of shots and editing.
Hurray! I finally have some pics of an flattie swamp racer. I knew one of these would pop up sooner or later!
