Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This ad with women sipping tea while soldiers push through thick mud just expired on eBay, but will likely be relisted. It seems a bit unfair to women, as if they didn’t know a war was going on. I would imagine that most women likely were the main food shoppers and had to deal with shortages beyond just rubber.

“1946 Military Jeep Willy CJ. Vehicle starts, stops and runs great. Has a new electronic ignition, a chevy V-6 engine w/3 on the floor and recently serviced 11-1/2″ brake drums/shoes. Also, oil changed, tires balanced and rotated, rebuilt carburetor with general tune-up and a front mounted winch-not tested.”
The body has undergone some repairs.

Good luck getting this thing stuck. Bill of sale only. Currently registered in Georgia. I used it around the farm and occasional trips to the store or for a nice country drive. Gas Gauge does not work. Everything else is in great working order. Included is assorted overhaul parts, gasket kit, unmounted Jerry can, old Willys/Jeep stock shovel, Service Manual and Parts List.”
