About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“Do you want a Jeep? Do you want a backhoe? Do you want both? Do you dig car shows? Really Dig car shows?? Then you need this: A mid 60s Go For Digger factory backhoe built on a Jeep frame and body. The factory was in Toledo and continues today with a small self propelled backhoe made in West Virginia. These units were used by utility companies and municipalities and few survive today. The gentleman from whom I purchased used it for a water line business for 40 years until he retired in 2020.. The upshot is, this a fully functional, working machine, not barn find project. While it may not be pretty, you can get real work done with this. The original body rusted away and was replaced with the beauty you see here at some point long ago. F head motor. I did pull the head and had valves ground and new seals put in. This price Includes half a truck load of extra parts (most new) such as radiator, cylinders, valves, hoses, clutch, etc. Also includes a complete backhoe assembly which I found a year ago. Includes bill of sale. Cash. No trades. No Venmo. No Cash app. Thank you. Other stuff: Low geared rear end with top speed maybe 20 or so. I also have a handheld hydraulic breaker for this which I’ve never used.”

Bring your FC’s and FJ Step Vans, whether they’re cleaned or still have on their “work clothes” right out of the field. Let’s see what you have…running or not. Bring your extra parts for sale or trade. It would be nice to see photos of your project, in progress or completed.
Also,: This year you’ll be able to see Roger’s “new” 1960 FC-170 with an Ottawa Backhoe.
“Where do I start with this find! What we are looking at is a 1955 Willy’s that was converted into this Willy’s Digger. Owned by the original family since day one and it is solid! We always go through our cars and on this one other than a deep cleaning, we changed the oil like always and brake master cylinder along with plugs fuel filter and it runs and stops really well. All of the hydro fluid is new as well for the digger since we had to take it off for transport. The mechanisms in the back work and although we did not dig any holes, it looks like it will do a damn good job at it. Please ask any questions regarding anything you see and for any additional pictures as well.”
(11/26/2015) . It also includes a dozer blade. Looks like a Meyer Half Cab as well.
“I have a very RARE 1971 CJ5 Jeep backhoe with a go for digger backhoe factory conversion. Ran two years ago, it have a few hydraulic hoses that need to be replaced. NO TRADES. Call or text with any questions. Emails will be deleted. I have the front dozer blade, just not shown in pictures.”
Maury spotted this one-off CJ-5 backhoe tractor combo. He wrote, “I was helping my brother in law pick up some car parts this past weekend, and ran across this interesting CJ5-based vehicle. It was made by the guy who owned the business that was selling the car parts, and he told me it was a one-off he created years ago in Michigan in the hope of successfully marketing it.
The CJ5 body was bought new from AMC separately, and installed on the heavy steel frame he created for it. He said the resulting vehicle was the only loader-backhoe he knew of that could go 80 m.p.h.!”
“This Jeep Willy is a perfect fixer upper for someone looking to do some restoration. It is a very rare truck that comes with a backhoe attachment. I am not sure the exact year, but it is a vintage model. It has been sitting for years. I am asking $2000 or BO. I am happy to show this truck to interested buyers. Feel free to call, text, or email.”
