“Recent complete 200 hour restoration on a M274A3 military mule. For those that don’t know the A3 model is a retrofitted M274 with a 2 cylinder engine replacing the troublesome original 4 cylinder. This is 4 wheel drive like every model of mule and it is a 4 wheel steer model as well. Runs and drives excellently. The hour meter is NOS, but doesn’t work. Currently this has less than an hour on the whole vehicle.
I have listed the new reproduction and New Old Stock parts with the prices for those who do not know that mules are not cheap to restore and they take time to complete. Hence the reason they cost money. Some can not grasp this concept and apparently work for free. I will not answer any “is this still available messages” and I will take the listing down when it is no longer available.

“Military Mule, A274–A5 for sale, very good condition with original fasteners and components…no additional holes in the deck. Electric Start, Been in storage for the last 20 years and just recently rebuilt the fuel system. New carburetor, fuel pump and re-lined the gas tank. Been serviced with new filters. Runs great. Comes with a very rare four wheel steer kit that needs to be installed. Only needs a little cleaning from being in storage and new tires to make it a show piece.”

“Runs good, drives good, will take you anywhere. It’s a 1958 M274A4 mule with the magnesium frame, and a 2 cylinder Morse Fairbanks engine produced by Brunswick with only 189 hours, 3 speed manual with high and low. Also equipped with 4 wheel steer, and full time 4X4 and everything works. Comes with a winch, trailer hitch, has tons of lights. Everything on it works as it should, may need a new battery.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $8000

“Selling a 1966 military mule. This is a fun thing to have. And it is titled as an atv in the state of Oregon and I do have a clean title and all the paper work that goes with it also have manuals for it as well. It’s rated as a half ton. Has articulating steering and is 4×4. It did run but sat with gas in the tank and it gummed up the carb. Asking 5500 obo”
UPDATE: Still Available.
Joe is selling this Mule. This is part of an estate sale. It has no title. Email joehuld @ pacbell.net (remove spaces around the @) with Mule in subject line or Call Joe at 626 379 0059.
“This mule was completely restored a few years ago by the late owner and used very little after restoration; only 31 hours show on the Stewart Warner hour meter. The vehicle has been in dry inside storage for the past couple of years. It has STA 7.50-10 NHS tires that appear to be practically new. The O.D green paint is in excellent condition. It is not a street legal so has no registration or title but the attorney representing the estate will provide a bill of sale. It is located in South Pasadena, California and will have to be trailered. It does roll easily”
Sri spotted this Mule for sale. It could be a good price.

Roger shared these pics of an air-cooled engine he has. He showed it off at this year’s Willys Rally. It’s an air-cooled engine with “WILLYS” cast on the valve cover and intended for use as a generator, though he was told it was the same engine used in the M-274 Mule.
A parts/project Mule is hard to find!
