Not too many ads with a Slat Grille MB in them.
“This is an original 1946 print ad for Jantzen clothes! It measures approximately 13.25″ x 10.25″ overall, has no tears, with a light stain in the top edge; comes from a dry, high-altitude, smoke-free environment, and is strictly graded ”

Toyota CV joint drive shafts, front and rear.Toyota cable operated locker in the rear with a trutrack in the front. Toyota power steering, cross over to Sky Manufacturing High steer arms, one ton tie rod ends. 35 12.5 15 BFG KM tires with 32 bolt beadlocks. It weighs 3040 lbs wet. 10 gallon fuel tank with a screw in cap, no leaking, like most old Jeeps. 1941 Ca license Plate The front and rear seats are covered in top material that has a 10 year guarantee in the sun. It does the Rubicon with ease as well as Foredice creek. It did the Pipe Jam trail In less than an hour. With 5.29 diff. gears and 35 inch tires it is geared just like a stock Toyota Pickup. it is a little too soft to drive on the street at speed. Add one more leaf to each side of the the rear suspension and it is a great hwy runner. I have the extra leafs”
Here’s a neat photo. Unfortunately the press release info isn’t included within the eBay auction.
UPDATE: Still Available. The body is newer than a ’41 and appears to have been modified a little at the tool indents. Also note the driver’s side wheel. It appears to be pushed back a little farther than normal. Thanks to Colin and Richard for spotting these issues.
This could be a slat grille. It has an early gas tank.
“up for sale is a 1941 willys mb army jeep. it has the 4cyl “go devil” engine with 3 speed transmission high and low range and of course 4wd. its all original except for the fuel tank had previously been replaced prior to purchase. also it has been converted to a 12v system. the windshield frame is included. it is bent but the glass is there. it also has a new carter carburetor. it DOES NOT RUN! UPDATE: **SOLD**
“This a Willys Slat Grille MB is in need of a full restoration but is a great start and retains much of its originality. The OD paint is still under the other layers of paint.
The DOD is 2 Feb. 1942 and the USA number is 204748?, the body number is 20033 and it has the square deep well with the script Willys on the rear panel.
It has had government upgrades such as the rear panel reinforcement and trailer socket added. The engine needs to be rebuilt but is an MB replacement engine with a blank pad. It has a casting date of 12.30 and is probably a 1944 block.
Both front seats are the original early split pattern and the driver’s seat pan has been modified for the later wide mouth style fuel tank and filler neck.
It also comes with the original early style rear seat.”
The grille itself looks good. Unclear about the year.
