About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .

“1944 Willys MB WWII Jeep. Absolutely beautifully restored by a renowned and highly experienced Jeep collector. This is NOT a reproduction body tub!!! Fenders, hood, grille, tub, radiator and all five combat rims are original! Motor and all running gear is original and in FULL running order. Built to late war rebuild specs (with a few F marked parts) and left clean without unit markings…those are for the new owner to choose! Comes with late type vacuum wipers. ORIGINAL SPEEDO! They do NOT come cleaner than this and believe us…this one won’t last long! Turn key ready and reliable. Price includes axe, shovel, fire extinguisher, canvas water bucket, new tires and brand new canvas top and seat cushions made by Beechwood Canvas with the proper C tip straps. Reflectors are even the correct type! Call us soon…”
Looks like a good restoration or “keep as is” candidate.
“This was purchased as a restoration project. My interests have changed and I would like to see this go to someone who will either restore it or just get it out and enjoy it. The truck came form the original owner in Fresno CA about 12 years ago. It will run. The valves need adjusted and it needs tires to get it on the road. You will not find the typical rust around the windshield and the cab on this truck. Feel free to contact me with questions or offers.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay. Now lives in New York (See comments).
Nice looking fire jeep.
“1948 Willys Fire Truck for sale. Excellent running and aesthetic condition. Very low mileage. This jeep was bought brand new by the village of St-Esprit (Québec, Canada). Only one owner after the fire department.”
“Time for second owner for this vintage 1950 Willys Jeep that we used in the orchard, on the farm and for hunting in the Columbia Gorge. This Jeep was purchased new in 1950 by my parents. It has a paltry 19,000 miles on it. It would be a great restoration project! The engine is non-operational and needs to be rebuilt but nothing is frozen.”
UPDATE ***: Jurgen spotted this one. The ad for this jeep has resurfaced, this time in Ireland. Note the text claims the body panels has their “rivets” removed using a special tool. The panels were welded together via spot welds, not held together using rivets. It’s the same claim made in the text from last year: https://www.vintagestefano.com/for-sale
UPDATE II: A Craigslister reported that the seller is away and keeps raising the price as emails are exchanged. “Guy claims he is govt working but keeps asking for more and more info if you respond to his add…beware”
UPDATE: This jeep was on eBay a couple days ago. The seller listed it in College Station, Texas. The same jeep just popped up on a West Virginia Craigslist for only $4000. The text in the ad is similar to the text shown down below.
“1946 Willys VEC (Very Early Civilian) CJ-2A Jeep – Museum Quality Restoration
Offered is a 1946 CJ-2A that has undergone a frame-off, nut and bolt, rotisserie restoration. This is a very early civilian version, identified by square windshield plates, column shift, tool indents, ‘F’ script bolts in drive train, frame tag on the outside of the driver front gusset and three data plates on the dash.
I acquired this Willys Jeep CJ-2A from a Kingman, Kansas flying service in 2008 where it was being used as an airport tug. Everything was original, uncut, matching numbers and well preserved in several coats of orange paint. The frame tag, dash data plate and the Willys body tag are each numbered 17968 and correctly located. The motor number is CJ-2A 18464. The AMC numbers on the tailgate and front gusset are matching and both read 8620. Continue reading →
“This is a 1962 Marine variant M38A1. As such, it has the original stock front and rear lift rings, extended rear bumper, front/rear limited slip differentials and late model air cleaner. The entire vehicle was restored as an off-frame restoration with all mechanical and electrical aspects rebuilt. Jeep has 16,500 miles on it and runs as new. It was originally marked as USN in forest green but was restored with USMC markings. Most likely originally a Seabee jeep. Hood number is actual original. Asking $12,500.”
