Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (05/11/2010) If we had a better pic, I *think* we’d see the upper tool indent visible but the lower one not visible. However, even if that was the case, it appears that though the gas cap is visible, the inlet appears tilted, suggesting it is an aftermarket install. The dashboard suggests it is a MB body (with the glove box). The floor board of the rear is just visible and is flat as expected, rather than having undulations like the CJ-2A. The grille is mb, the passenger fender is mb and the hood is mb. However this does have a CJ-2A windshield. So, this appears to be less stock than I originally thought.

“RARE… 1953 Willy’s highhood jeep, CJ 3B in good condition. All parts listed below are new within the last two years with very low miles on them: Carb, Paint, Rims, Tires, Fuel, Tank, Exhaust, Brakes. It has a Warn O/D. Jeep runs and looks awesome, has original engine, tranny, axles and t/c. Selling so I can get something fun such as a Sand Rail, Quad, Land Cruiser, Early Bronco or even a 1 Ton 4×4 truck.”
I can’t quite tell, but there might be a rear PTO on this.

The seller notes this is “rust free” and has “0 rust”. But, I’m pretty sure surface rust counts as rust?? But if it runs and drives well, it looks like a good price.
“This is a 63 or 64 CJ3B for sale. It has a strong motor that has a rebuilt carb, new tune up, updated electircal,new brakes all around, new oil and brand new windshield. Drives and stops like a jeep tires should be replaced but still can be used for driving around town. Have bill of sale only at this point but possibly next week will get it titled. was told it is clear in DMV just need to go thru paper work. Shifts thru all gears great, 4 wheel drive works high and low. needs front running lights and one right rear. solid RUST FREE jeep!!!! Has some dent and dings as any jeep this old does but has a great tub with 0 rust on that or frame!!!! This looks good and mostly stock. It appears this is missing headlights? Something doesn’t quite look right.

These don’t appear very often. I’m not sure how easy, or not, they are to import into the US.

It has a professionally installed dual tank fuel system which means it can run on diesel or vegetable oil. The system was professionally installed and runs exceptionally well. The Jeep also has new TA’s with less than a 1000 miles. The title is clear and clean. No rips or tears in the seats. No dents or body damage. Runs and drives excellent. Bikini top and doors included.”

(05/16/2010) These aren’t too common and this one looks nice. I think this is as good of price as you’ll find.
“This is a one of a kind! Mitsubishi right hand drive. This jeep was made in Japan. Street legal, with current tags and clean title. Good shape, runs great. F134 motor 4 cylinder. Great jeep for hunting & fishing in the back country. Brand new 8,000 lb electric winch. Half and full tops. 5 mud terrain tires with less than 1000 miles on them. Off road lights, 2 front and 1 rear. Three speed. If you want a 16 foot car trailer with it, add another $1,000 to price.”

The seller indicates the body is fine, but does have some dents. This is equipped with a saturn overdrive.
“Original Arizona vehicle. Second owner. 96k miles, original L6-226 flathead engine w/ Weber 38mm DGV carb, B-W T90 transmission, Dana 18 transfer case, Dana 25 front axle, Dana 44 rear axle, Warn-type (Saturn) overdrive, 4.27:1 axle ratio, SuperWinch front axle hubs, BFG 31″ All-Terrain Mud tires, Saginaw steering box, Rancho springs, electric and mechanical fuel pumps. Front axle, transmission, transfer case, and brakes recently rebuilt; very low mileage on new clutch and overdrive. Various other new or rebuilt parts on engine. This is a daily driver, not a show car. There are small dings in the body and the paint is average. The interior is functional, but needs a floor mat, new door panels, and windlace around the doors. Fuel gage and driver’s side door handle need to be repaired. E-mail for high-res pics.”
