Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. I purchased a copy of this book. There are some good pictures and stories of the jeeps used to make the first few Zamboni Ice Resurfacers. If you haven’t seen it, here’s my post about the Zamboni Ice Resurfacer.
The jeep platform has been used for a variety of different projects, including multiple versions of the Zamboni Ice Re-surfacer. But, I didn’t know that in 1958 the famous Oscar Meyer vehicle was built from a 1958 FC-150. I guess that didn’t work so well, as they didn’t do it again based on the info I’ve found.
