2 1948 CJ-2As Abilene, Tx $5000

• CATEGORIES: CJ-2A • TAGS: This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

There is certainly some work left with both Jeeps.

“This listing is for TWO different 1948 CJ2A Jeep Willys, but are being sold together.  I’ve had these Jeeps for a while, and was thinking about using both Jeeps to restore into one. For a list of reasons I am not able to complete the project anymore, and have decided to sell them to someone who is. There are flaws to both Jeeps, but between the two they’re great for a restoration!  One of the Jeeps has a rare aftermarket aluminum hard top and doors (picture included). I have new parts included with the Jeeps, and FOUR extra original rims!
If you have any other questions you can email me, or call me. Jim (325) 665-7527 (please call in reasonable hours).”

1952 M-38 West Valley, Ut **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: M-38 • TAGS: This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

The seller notes this has a Ford head — it does appear to be a GPW head.  To view a fantastic comparison of heads, visit the ww2jeeps.com website?  This looks like a very good price on  a running M-38 for a restoration project.  The Serial Number is 64395 (the last M-38 serial number appears to be 72329).

“For sale is a 1952 Willys M38. Original Drive train: Ford Head/M38 Block. The vehicle does not have a tailgate or windshield. It appears to have been: military green, then red, then light blue and finally black. Both front and passenger side rear blackout lights are present. It runs and drives but the carb is out being rebuilt. The vehicle has civilian tires/rims and there are two spares (six total). The seats are not original. Repairs: new brake lines/cylinders, radiator rebuilt, electrical converted to 12V, tune up, fuel tank/sending unit & more. Jeep comes with about $800 of parts from kaiserwillys.com. List of parts to come soon.  Jeep is located in West Valley City Utah.  $2000 OR $1750 AS IS: IE-NO REBUILT CARB-TOW AWAY.”

Friday’s Report from the Midwest Willys Reunion

• CATEGORIES: News This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Getting only the best of the best, the Ohio eWillys Bureau filed this report despite high winds, drenching rains, and hurricane-like end-of-the-world conditions that would prevent even the sturdiest postal delivery specialists from completing their rounds.  As I look up at the clock, I see it’s midnight at the reunion, so many kudos to Bob for his beyond-the-call-of-duty images (Bob, just make sure to keep the camera dry!). Many Thanks!

Bob writes, “we’ve had violent thunderstorms down here for the Willys Reunion and the internet was down until now [editor’s note — the internet goes down?].  Here are 4 photos from today. We got here about 2 pm after driving through rain most of the way. The rain around 5-6 pm was like a typhon.

There seems to be about 40 jeeps here now of all stripes. I’ll send more images tomorrow. The green 3b with the Eugene spare tire cover is mine.

A Roberto Flores Illustration

• CATEGORIES: Artists/Drawings This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Roberto Flores has an older illustration he’d like to share with us (thanks!).  I managed to find a self-taken snapshot of myself, a handsome lad (well, that’s what mom always said) of 21 years, in a similar situation.  I knew approximately where I was (in southeastern washington), but didn’t know exactly where I was, even with the help of the map and signs (pomerey, shown on the sign at the bottom, isn’t exactly a big town). So, I just tried driving with the early morning sun to my left so that I’d be heading south.  Truth be told, I love being lost 🙂

Here’s Roberto’s drawing.

Here’s me, circa early November, 1985:
