There is some work to be done on this. Looks like something hit the passenger’s side.
“For Sale is a 1953 Willys CJ3B.
I started to restore this old jeep but decided to pay off some debt instead! (Thanks Dave Ramsey)!! I will tell you as much as I know about this great old Jeep.
We rescued this jeep from Canyon City Colorado sitting in a field. At some point in the jeeps long history, somebody replaced the engine with a ford 302 and cut up the front of the frame. When I purchased it, I decided that the old flat four should go back into the jeep so that is what I did. I found a good running gear complete with engine, transmission, transfer case and the whole works, frame included. I swapped the CJ3B body onto the new frame and running gear. That was the beginning of the restore. This jeep is not complete but would not take much to complete.
Here are a few things that I know for sure need to be completed before it can be driven. The wiring needs to be completely redone thanks to the ford engine swap. I was going to do the painless wiring from Kaiser Willys. The tires are completely shot but they do hold air. The brake system needs to flushed to be right but they did work a little when we unloaded the jeep. The clutch needs to be adjusted but it does work.
Here are some of the great things about this old classic. I painted the old jeep back to close to the original color and paint scheme. Wow have times changed!! The seats will work well and the frames are in good shape. It has a roll bar that is in good shape and bolted down. The inside of the tub is ready for some rhino liner. The engine DOES run well!! A little smoke from sitting for a while but sounds great.
I can tell you that this Jeep will never win any car shows but damn it still looks good for an almost 60 year old rig!! Yes there is rust under the floor pans but the pans themselves have been patched. There are dents and holes from previous proud owners having fun in this old Jeep making memories so I decided to leave them to tell a story!! Come take a look. I can’t meet you anywhere with it since it does not drive. I ensure you that if you are looking to restore an old jeep to make you smile and remember the good ole days or are looking to take the kids out for ice cream, this might just be it. It needs work and yes you will need a trailer or dolly to get it to its new home.
I do have some extra parts that will go with the CJ3B when it is sold. I might even find an extra Dana model 18 transfer case to pitch in the back.
Give me a call if this might be what you are looking for.
