1948 CJ-2A Great Falls, MT **Status Unknown**

• CATEGORIES: CJ-2A This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **Status Unknown** Was $2000

Looks like a parts jeep.

“I have 48 CJ-2A for sale. Original motor, and drivetrain. The body was swapped for a military body at some point, a box was also welded to the rear for more room. This is a huge project, I always wanted to do it but have moved and need to sell. The VIN plate has long been lost so a bonded title would need to be obtained once the vehicle was brought back to running.”

1958 Wagon Des Moines, WA **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: Willys Wagons This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2500.

(09/15/2013) Engine doesn’t run and has other updates.

“1958 willys panel jeep 4×4 project. Does not run. 350 chevy 700r4 auto and I think a 208 transfer case. Dana 44 axles front and rear out of a scout 2. Rancho lift kit. Tinted windows. I have the original bumpers. Has title.

The bad:
The engine has not run in 2 years. Starter died and has a fuel leak between carb and the mechanical fuel pump. It hasn’t been driven in 9 years due to the ring and pinion in the rear axle breaking

there’s no front drive line and the front and rear axle having mismatched gears and there is a leak in the brake system somewhere.”

• CATEGORIES: CJ-2A • TAGS: , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE:  **SOLD** Was $12,500

(09/07/2013) This great looking 2A is almost early enough to be a VEC.

“Selling a 1946 Willys CJ2A (serial # 34587)-

This is an all original, numbers matching jeep. It was a barn find, purchased by my father in 2005, from Eastern Washington. He has completed a full frame-off restoration on this project. It is his third completed project (has restored a CJ3B & M38A1 as well) and he is looking to sell in order to free up space for another build. Jeep’s restoration was completed over 4 years. All receipts were keep and total over 9k. Included in the sale is a photo album of original owner with jeep’s history, and photos of the restoration process.

Full frame-off restoration:
6-volt converted to 12-volt system (original 6-volt parts included).
Original L-Head 4cyl, complete overhaul (block resurfaced, valves, pistons, timing chain, etc) w/ papers.
Column shift 3 speed, with Warn Overdrive (tranny & clutch were rebuilt, w/ papers).
Overhauled carburetor, new vacuum hoses w/ papers.
New fuel tank, sending unit, w/ papers.
New speedo (original included), fuel gauge, oil pressure gauge, w/ papers.
Rebuilt distributor, w/ papers.
Radiator – boiled and sealed, new hoses, w/ papers.
New electrical connectors, flasher, switch, wires, and horn.
New brake lines, master cylinder, brake cable, and wheel cylinders.
New battery.
Starter re-manufactured w/ papers.
New exhaust & muffler.
New shocks and shackles.
Rebuilt fuel pump & new belt, w/ papers.
Rebuild kit for steering bell crank, new connecting & tie rods.
New best-top, customized to “fit”.
Reupholstered seats.
New paint (body, wheels, head, & frame). Up until serial number 38221, the CJ-2A only came in two colors–Pasture Green and Harvest Tan. Painted to match Pasture Green….

I am probably missing some details of this restoration. Please email me with any questions and I’ll be happy to try an answer or will direct you to my father for further information.

This CJ2A needs nothing, is complete, and was restored to be an accurate representation of the era. All parts that were “up-graded” were done to improve reliability and drive-ability of this project. All original parts will be included with the sale. Jeep has 66k original miles, 1,100 since restoration. Has original number plates & badges. Also comes with original tool kit & manual”

Taccoa, GA, gathering of WWII Veterans

• CATEGORIES: Event, Features This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Roger Martin forwarded these photos of his father (James “PeeWee” Martin) and others. He wrote, “I thought you and others would enjoy seeing pictures of the WWII Veterens, who gathered at Taccoa, GA this past weekend for the 71st anniversary of their training at Currahee Mountain.  These were the first and “original”  G Company 506 101st Airborne Division Paratroopers  who parachuted behind enemy lines at Normandy the night before D-Day.  Currahee Military Weekend has become an annual, three-day event in Stephens County.  There are book signings, interviews, military reenactors, a parade, and tours of the Historical Society Museum and Military Museum. The pictures I have sent include Paul Grice’s (Waynesville, OH), 1942 GPW Ford Jeep which he loaned me, and I hauled 500 miles to the event.”

Col. Tom Kennedy (age 92), Ira Morehart (age 90), and James “PeeWee” Martin (age 92) are pictured:

Camp Taccoa at Currahee Mountain at the entrance to the original camp at the foot of Currahee Mountain where the paratroopers trained daily by running the 3 miles to the top. The mountain is 800 feet above the valley below. “PeeWee” Martin was there from the first of August until the first of December, 1942 as part of his paratrooper training.:

5 Points Graffiti – FJ-6?

• CATEGORIES: Artists/Drawings, Features This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

In Long Island City there’s a warehouse that’s become a canvas for graffiti artists (by permit only). Apparently, the warehouse is going to be taken down, so Yahoo featured some of its art. One of the scenes depicts what appears to be a FJ-6 Ice Cream jeep.

You can see the yahoo article here: http://news.yahoo.com/photos/graffiti-mecca-in-long-island-city-queens-ny-is-threatened-1381434599-slideshow/
