Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Must see in person to truly appreciate ( i know everyone says that but i serious), color is not as overwhelming, and truck really is sweet.
Up for auction a 1947 CJ2a show or go Jeep, this jeep has been in many local shows and has taken home loads of hardware for being so unique and in such great condition. Restoration completed about 3 years ago with only 500 miles since restoration. 95% of this jeep is new, from the engine and transmission to the rear axle spindles and bearings and gears of the rear end with all receipts to prove it, even minor components such as cowl weatherstripping and fuel tank neck grommets have been replaced…..outside of the dana 18 transfer case and front axle, and front drive shaft, pretty much everything else has been replaced with new upgraded components!!! Truck is powered by a 300hp 350 Chevy Crate engine (less than 1000 miles, edelbrock endurashine top half with dual 500cfm edelbrock thunder series carbs, RPM Air Gap Intake, MSD pro billet dizzy, Novak built sm420 tranny 4 spd with super low drive shaft breaking 1st gear, dana 18 twin stick transfer case, patriot tight tuck headers, 22×19 Aluminum racing radiator (with both mechanical and electrcial fans), Currie Axles, Currie Built Ford 9″ rear end with 4.11 gears, Saginaw High Steer Steering box, NEW 33inch tires, 3 inch lift, custom interior, custom built heavy duty rear drive shaft, Rhino lined gloss black bed; powder coated bumpers, winshield frame and roll bar. Base/Clear paint. Both white rims and chrome rims are included with sale. Jeep can be driven on highway w/o any problems Only the endurashine dual carb setup is included with sale, I live in Buffalo so I’ve got over a foot of snow outside and had to use pics from past couple seasons that i had on hand, so the only thing different is carb setup, will post agian during nicer weather if jeep doesnt go for my reserve”

I purchased this as a project to upgrade with my son, but find myself with too much else going on. This is drive ready and most everything works, but it is clearly not a highway vehicle. “1944 Willy’s Military Jeep 4×4 free of rust and dents. Paint finish in good condition. The interior has the original canvas seats with roof canvas inside curtains. Under carriage and suspension also in good condition.”

“I am looking to sell my jeep. I have owned it for about 10 years and looking for something different. Nice shape but the master cylinder is leaking, and it needs a battery.I have a lot of extra parts. Engine has very low miles on complete rebuild and trans and tranfer case were gone thru also. I have advertised before and have had some interesting trade offers. Kinda wanting a vette or mustang , camaro, convertible, something like that. “I have a 1950’s era Jeep m38a1.
It was sold to me as a 1965 CJ5 but I had a few jeep experts tell me that it was in fact a military M38A1 from the 50’s.
It has:
3.8l Buick V6 engine
Borg Warner t98 trans
Dana 18 transfer case with Warn overdrive.
Gears are really high ratio… 5:33’s I think in Dana 44 rear and Dana 25 front.
New wiring harness is 60% installed
Saginaw power steering box
This Jeep needs some love. Sadly I don’t have the time or skill level to do it justice. I’ve never been able to put it on the road

Needs a fuel cell
Trans and transfer case need to be sealed up,Won’t hold oil.
It’s been sitting for a few years, it ran when I parked it.

“1951 M38 Willys military jeep, original l-head flat head engine, all stock running gear, warn overdrive, has safety upgrades of 11″ brakes and Saginaw steering, the body is virtually rust free , the only rust is surface stuff, dent free , and no bondo, the seats are not original. It is currently registered non-op, in my name . It runs but is going to need a carburetor rebuild and a brake master cylinder, I just have too many projects , and this sweet little jeep deserves to be treated well. ”
