Yes, you read that correctly. A couple days ago the Westchester firehouse caught fire. Lost in the fire was their 1943 jeep đ

You can just see the back of the jeep to the right. I found this pic on their Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/WestchesterFireWire/photos/a.503907639717921.1073741862.387124101396276/503956493046369/?type=1&theater

What a sad loss, not only the jeep but all the historical items.
Sad. Even a fire dept is not immune to fire.
Isn’t that like robbing a police station? (lol)
Sorry to hear about all the equipment loss. Hopefully, some of the GPW or MB can be salvaged.
**Steve E.**
Perhaps it is the irony of the event that causes it to stick in my mind, but it seems like too many fire stations succumb to fire.
I grew up in/on a Fire Station (houses on site) and my mother set light to the kitchen as in up in flames and when they (my father) got there with the equipment required it did not work……….irony indeed or is that just plain old “Murphy”.
