Is that wood under the dump bed? I can’t quite tell.

Looks like wood to me. I think he just used dimensional pieces of lumber on top of the frame to “shim” the self contained dump unit above the tires. I don’t see u-bolts or similar fasteners, not sure how it’s all secured.
