Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This might be well worth looking at, especially if it is a 2WD with overdrive. It has a column shift which was standard in 1947-48. Craig B, it is close to you. My wife has a 2nd cousin living in Warrenton, but he doesn’t know anything about Jeeps, only hunting and reloading(not a bad set of hobbies!!). The seller’s number is: 636-456-9498 or 636-384-6336. Called the seller and they sold the truck yesterday to a guy named John in Indiana who is going to pick it up tomorrow. If he doesn’t show up, the seller has my number. It was a 2WD, L 134 with overdrive and still had the original tailgate with the W-O stamping. However bought it got a good deal.
Sorry you missed out on this one, Colin. This truck would be very happy here in Arizona, never worrying about rust again.
