Michael spotted this link from the Chive that shows a 57 military jeep photos. They are labeled as “hi res” photos, but when I downloaded the one below, it wasn’t hi res. Still, they are well shot photos.

I thought that odd as well, but I figured that was just me.
Hi guys, what’s up with that radiator shutter, or maybe more correctly winterfront? Is that Willys stuff or home made from a window shade? You can see the workings in the engine compartment too.

Saw that to John. Thought it was pretty cool. I have never seen it before, could be homebrew.
I saw some of those shutters on some Jeeps that were imported by Sarafan and White Owl back in the 1980’s.
You guys must be hardcore jeepers not to appreciate the photos of the new “models” I thought the new body styles were a breath of fresh air. Not too much rust on them either!

Could the shutters be a water break to keep water off the fan in wet crossings. Looks like it can be pulled up from the cab.
