What happens when a Howitzer is pushed from a plane, but its parachute fails to open? Well, these paratroopers learned first hand that the weapon turns into a large paperweight. At least the parachute on the jeep and soldiers worked!

I really like the red top on this jeep.
“This jeep came from South Dakota in 2000 and was totally disassembled and rebuilt with the best paints and parts available.
The wiring came from Vintage Wiring , correct original wiring.
The body was reassembled using s. s. nuts and bolts.
Original top bows and new Red Sunbrella top created as original, top can be full or half cab. No doors or side curtains .(as pictured)
The wheels have optional s. s. trim rings.
The lockout hubs are first generation Kelly hubs.
The jeep has the latest Advance Adapters Overdrive.
The jeep is mechanically sound and drives very well down the road.”

It’s a nice looking flattie and it’s serial number is early, but the lack of VEC details reduces the importance of its early roots.
“This is one of the first 1,000 civilian Jeeps made in 1945. Serial number is 10984, making it the 984th or 983rd Jeep made, depending on which source you read. (Some articles state the serial number began at 10,000 and others state it began with 10,001.”

“1962 Willys CJ3B Jeep (High Hood), Stock 4-cyl with low miles on top end rebuild, Freshly re-built carb, new exhaust, T-90 3 speed with 27% Overdrive, 5:38 gears, Power Steering, Tilt Column from a 79 CJ-5, 11″ Brakes, 32″ Super Swampers, Bikini Top, Tow Bar, Tow Lights. Runs good, drives nice!”

It looks like there’s a pile of money put into this unusual rig. A couple things need fixing.
“This is a high-dollar build custom 1977 Jeep CJ that is just unreal! People come from all over to see this and get a picture with it. It is an extreme head-turner!! It will snap necks! The local police love it and offered to give me an escort wherever I need to go with it! It will dominate any 4×4 show. I own a car lot and use it for advertising. It is perfect for drawing business in.
It is an all steel body with the obvious mod, two extra doors! There is no roof with it. I was going to build an aluminum roof but never got around to it. It’s always been garage kept. The tires are 52 inch. The rims are 20 inch. It has a gorgeous small block chevy 350 with 350 turbo trans. I’ll add additional info about the rears tomorrow. I need to double check. It has air suspension. There is about 12-18 inches of travel with air. There is $60,000 invested in this. I use the term invested loosely… You will be investing though. This is an investment for your business or personal collection. The loss has already been absorbed by the original builder and myself. I can’t really call it a loss because it did it’s job. I sold a lot of cars and trucks due to the increased traffic this thing brought in.
Things it needs: the steering box mounted more sturdy. The mount flexes. It has a leak in the air suspension.
Please Call me before buying it now. It is a custom Jeep and I’m selling it as-is where is.”

(09/11/2014) Needs some work.
“I’m selling my Willys CJ-2A because I can’t afford multiple projects right now. It’s a great little rig, but needs a little TLC. Motor is an early 70’s ford V6, currently runs but has a flat spot in the throttle. I’m guessing it’s a vacuum leak somewhere. brand new carb installed recently. As well as a new battery. Price is negotiable. Trades welcome. Looking for a boat or a reliable pick up.”

Roger and his father Jim “Pee Wee” Martin attended the August 23, 2014 D-Day Reenactment in Conneaut, Ohio. He writes, “I took my dad,Jim “Pee Wee” Martin (2014 CNN Pee Wee Interview), and Ira Morehart to the D-day Reenactment in Conneaut, Ohio on August 23rd, 2014. My dad is the one in the passenger seat of the Jeep. He and Ira were in the 101st Airborne that jumped into Normandy the night before the D-day invasion. The jeep is a GPW that now features my father’s signature inside the glovebox.”
Roger added, “These other 2 pictures are on South Bass Island in Lake Erie where I went with my youngest daughter, Katie, September 11, 2014. The two jeep “trains” are in front of the winery where the largest geode in the world is located under the winery. Guests can tour the winery and see the geode.”
