Looking closely I see the front bumper with “X ??” , maybe X 36, as this was likely taken at Charlie Sorenson’s farm, and is one of the first production CJ2A models. We’ve seen several examples with that X on the right side of the bumper and also on the rear.
It looks like the same jeep I saw in a photo a couple weeks ago of them loading this hay wagon. Taken at Cesor farms sometime in 1945, but judging by the trees it looks more like the fall of 1944.
