Eric Jarvis’ Jeeps

• CATEGORIES: Builds, Features • TAGS: This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: Eric shared some additional photos. They are located at the end of the post.

eric-jeep-collection1Eric Jarvis is learning that it is difficult to own just one jeep! He started with a 1964 CJ-5 like his grandfather used to own. Eric spent many years working on the red jeep until he got it just the way he wanted it. You can see the dedication on the glove box to his grandfather, Harlan.

The green next to it is a 1967 CJ-5 with a Buick V-6 Eric uses around the shop. It sports a Koenig PTO winch on the front. He also just picked up a Monroe 3 Point Hitch from Ted Jordan he will install in the rear.

The 1943 GPW shown below was a jeep Eric purchased from Don Prine three years ago. He even got a chance to fly to the northwest and see Don’s jeep collection, a memory I’m sure he’ll cherish.

Finally, Eric recently purchased this CJ-5 with a trencher. It’s a retirement project that I suspect will keep him busy for a few years.

See Pete for a Jeep in Omaha

This May 1957 article highlights the successful slogan the Jacobson Motor Company of Omaha, Nebraska, used to attract buyers. Pete Comley, sales manager, came up with the slogan and added it to one of the company’s wagons.

1958 FC-170 New Jersey $17,500

• CATEGORIES: FC150-FC170-M677 This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: Price dropped to $17,500.

Pete’s old custom FC is back on the market. It’s a well-built rig.

“This is Pete’s Truck from New Mexico that was in 5 magazines and is on a 1989 3/4 Ton Chevy Chassis has 350 Cu In with 700 Auto Transmission with 32 K mileage. Just replace All Steering Linkage and Steering Shaft Bearings and new shocks and have done few things to it since I purchased it. Just picked up a small trophy from a local show here and every one at the show just luv this Jeep and most said this was the first time they ever saw a Jeep FC. I bought it thinking I could slow myself down but going back to Sports car and want a Lotus Evora and so I have to sell this and another car to purchase. Very nice running truck and paint is in very nice condition for being 10 yrs old. Tires are in good condition.”

1971 Jeepster Philadelphia, PA **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: Jeepster This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $8000

This looks like a nice Jeepster Commando for the price.

“1971 Jeepster Commando 83k, Buick V6, 4 speed manual, 4wd, runs, drives, stops. Not perfect, but in really good shape, drives like a Jeep should. Larger than the old CJ’s so it’s definitely more stable. White hard top, Kayline (black) soft top, hell creek suspension, 31″ tires, with brand new spare not even mounted yet, Mickey Thompson wheels, front disc brakes, spare tire carrier – included but not mounted. Black hi-back seats in front with folding seat in rear. New Battery, Alternator, Voltage Regulator, transmission mount. Not exactly a rare thing but definitely uncommon. Currently tagged as an antique.”

1942 GPW Phoenicia, NY **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: GPW (Ford MB) • TAGS: This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.

This is a rare reconditioned GPW by Higgins. Only 1,850 jeeps were reconditioned by Higgins Plastic Corporation.

1942-gpw-andy

For your consideration, a 1942 Ford GPW with mostly original paint and markings. Has peeling red house paint over the olive drab, which in my opinion could probably be mostly removed with a scraper.

Serial #73528, has a civilian engine and t90 transmission installed.

Overall, a nice jeep to restore back to its former glory. Mostly original condition, I have removed an angle iron front bumper, and replaced it with a repro set of gussetts and bumper. Front frame is in pretty good shape, with no welding or cracks.

1942 GPW Little Rock, AR eBay

• CATEGORIES: GPW (Ford MB) This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

This has the Ford script on the back.

“Ford GPW WWII Army Jeep, very rare in that it is the “Ford Script” model with “Ford” stamped on the back panel. It was last titled in 1961 in California, and the title is still open from that time. The vehicle was originally sold to the public from the government in 1946, so the title says 46 model and also references the year of sale being 46. The pictures speak for themselves, the GPW will obviously need total restoration. Some fool cut the firewall and floor pan to begin installing a 283 Chevy engine. They also cut a hole in the hood to put a small scoop on. The frame is not cut. I will pull the motor out of the GPW before it is picked up, as the motor DOES NOT go with the vehicle. There are some spots of rust as one would expect, but it is actually fairly solid. The left rear leaf spring is missing, which is why it is leaning to the left.
