looks to me like its been converted to 12 volt. that generator and regulator aren’t 24 volt. the wiper motors also look electric to me.
I have an M38A1, that I bought at a city auction. I was told by the “Experts” that were attending, “that you don’t want that jeep with the 24 volt system”. They said it was to complicated and expensive to repair!
