Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1948 Jeep CJ-2A. Basic body tub has heavy rust, engine , trans and transfercase would all need rebuild. Rolling chasis, project. Metal cab shown in pics was sold. ”

Listed as a 1946, it has a 2A windshield. The rest appears to be MB. More refurb than restored.

Worth a look at that price.
“Original 44,000 mile tuxedo park mark iv. Great running jeep with pto winch. Dauntless 225 v6, t86 transmission with Dana 18 transfer case. Has body rust been from the Midwest. Transmission needs new input shafts bearing. Other than that and body work it’s in pretty good shape.
Selling it because in the middle of restoring a 64 and 79, not really wanting todo this one aswell.

Has cj engine, but looks solid.

New canvas on all seats, new brake system, body in very good condition, very little rust, while definitely not perfect, it’s a survivor in real good shape, an excellent candidate for a full restoration, or enjoy as is,draws massive amounts of attention.”
