About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
I spent the past week cleaning up my parents’ garage, opening up the ceiling, removing cobwebs, fixing insulation, and hanging seven new light fixtures (found 4 foot 3-light florescent light fixtures for only $10 a piece with working lights!). With the book done and the garage cleaned, I can get to the business of completing Biscuit.
One thing I still need for Biscuit is a Buick (or GM/GOP) scattershield. Anyone know of one for sale? eBay and Craigslist has been a bust.
That DJ-3A in Montana popped up on Craigslist again. If the floors are solid, Ann and I have decided to get it. Our goal is to get it running and worry about everything else later. If everything goes as planned, we’ll take our jeep to Montana next week, rent a trailer, and bring the jeep back.
This weekend Rob Stafford invited me to Overbored’s PNW4WDA jeep race in Ethel, Washington. So, I’ll be staying in the camper there for a couple days (Ann will be in Spokane, so it’s just me). There will be racing Saturday and Sunday. If you ever wondered about jeep racing, come by and say hello (I believe visitors can get in for $10 or so).

Looks almost clean enough to eat off the floor. But looks like a clean fresh start. Good luck with biscut
Glad that ‘Biscuit’ is getting some attention and you guys are going on a ‘mental health break,’ that’s what Donn and I called going camping when I lived in Florida! I haven’t bought the welder yet but my list of which one to buy is getting shorter! Now if I can find the welder like the one I used in OK it would be great because the OK welder had a Willys 4 cylinder motor. Enjoy your break and then you can get another mental health break while making Biscuit rise once again and just like in the oven the smell of oil, gasoline, cutting torch and arc welding can’t be beat!
Congrats on the fine cleanup. One note: Next time with those lights put in some new LED fixtues instead. And not just because the cost 1/8 as much to operate. At a brand C warehouse club they go for less than $30 each, give out more light without fading and last 10X longer. I got sick of changing my bulbs every 2-3 years with my 12ft garage ceilings and love the added light. In my case I got bulbs that fit my existing fixtures that were even ballast compatible, so no fixture rewiring.
John: As they go out I will try out the lights you suggest. Frankly, the garage really only gets used when I’m there working on the jeep, so the lighting cost should be pretty trivial over time.
Mark: I sold my Lincoln welder and will have to rely on a vintage welder from the 1950s`. Fortunately, I shouldn’t have to do much fine welding.
I have been gone all day so missed this post until this evening. This guy worked his tail off turning the garage inside out and upside down. He accomplished a lot more than I expected, but do appreciate all the effort, time and sweat even though the temps were mild while he was here. Dont know if I would eat off the floor yet, but sure is much cleaner than before! Thanks David!
