Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Great…hard to find any 4×4 vans even these days…but back in the day it must have been the only one on the block.
It’s still the only one on the block. It’s history of what it was and what it is now, is even more impressive. The craftsmanship took a lifetime of knowledge and skill to build a roadworthy freeway flier, capable of off road performance. This M-679 is one of Jesse’s many engineering marvels. This ambulance proved its worth two months ago traveling more than 4,500 mile to the latest FC Gathering. This is one of my favorite Forward Control Jeeps. Jim Allen traveled far and did a lot of fact finding to get the complete story. It’s people like these that inspire us to keep pursuing our projects.
