Just A Few Updates Tonight

On the Ann front:

She hasn’t gotten any better, but hasn’t gotten any worse. She still spends most of the day in bed. We believe that there’s a problem related to neck muscles, nerves, and upper vertebrae. Their interrelationship seems to be causing both the nausea and the pain in her head. She’s had several physical therapy appointments that have helped isolate the area that seems the root of the issue, but it could take quite a bit of therapy to loosen that area.

On the Rusty front:

A couple days ago I bought an NOS 0-9 1956-1957 speedometer face and engine on eBay. If for some reason I can’t get my speedometer fixed, I will go with this. And, if I do get it fixed, then I am sure I can easily sell this. You can see these are pretty close in style, even using the same pointer (which I wasn’t sure how I was going to find it).

0-9 that I just bought:

0-8 that I have:

While in Seattle the past few days I ran across a fantastic deal on a welder and blasting cabinet. I jumped on them and got both setup. The cabinet (a nothing-fancy Harbor Freight model) should work fine for cleaning parts.

Based on the reviews I found, this Clarke 130EN Mig welder should be good for repairs on the body. Apparently, anything thicker than a 1/4″ is too much for it, but I have an old-fashioned stick welder to tackle those issues. It came with everything you see, including a full bottle of Argon, an extra reel, two masks, cart, and other items.clark-130en-mig-welder

On the Biscuit front:

I found this chevy scatter shield in Pasco a couple weeks ago. I took it with me to Seattle. It was by far the best price I’ve seen on one, primarily due to the holes in it. It was used by an old sand jeep dragger.

While I was in Seattle, I formed a cover plate for the hole that spans the bottom and bolts in place (plate not shown). I plan on patching the side with some 1/4″ steel. I’ve been waiting for quite some time to get a scatter shield. Now I can begin to reassemble it (with a few mods).

1940s Slat Grilles in Pasco Parade

Not all the doctor appointments are without value to eWillys. We recently went downtown for an ultrasound on Ann’s heart. While walking down a hall, I spotted this parade photo, taken in downtown Pasco, Washington. I’m guessing it was taken during the early 1940s, because it features a bunch of Slat Grille MBs.

• CATEGORIES: Jeepster • TAGS: , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $13,500.

Looks nice.

“This 1949 Willis Overland Jeepster is the perfect driver with just enough work needed to make it your own. It has: professionally rebuilt original 4 cyl. flathead, rebuilt original 6 volt generator and starter, all new brake drums, wheels, cylinders and master cylinder. Original style wiring harness, runs great and looks good. Newer paint has some chips Top and top frame are installed but needs to be stapled to the oak base member. I just leave it down, fair weather car with no side curtains. The car has only about 150 miles since body on restoration and engine build.”

1953 CJ-3B Solvang, CA **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: CJ-3B This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $7200

(10/14/2016) Looks like the gas tank has been moved to the rear.

“After much consideration, I am selling my 1953 Willys jeep high hood. This is a full resto-mod. It has a 1963 327 Small block Chevy with a four speed. Power steering, tilt column, custom bumpers, relocated boxed fuel cell and a rancho suspension. It has a dual exhaust, new best top, warn hubs, wiring harness and the interior is rhino lined. The paint is fresh and is the factory color, Lozun red. You will be hard pressed to find one this nice and tow ready. The tow yoke is fully wired to operate all lights.

The tires are new Mickey Thompson Baja claws with pro comp powder coated steel wheels including the spare. I am the second owner. It was built to tow behind my father’s rv. I have been told this motor is out of a 63 corvette. The intake manifold matches corvette motors issued at that time, but the motor is a common 63 327 Sbc. I do not need help selling it. Please, no dreamers or tire kickers. Email me first then we will exchange info and set up a time to see it. If you want specific photos let me know and I will get them to you. ”

1946 VEC CJ-2A Saint Clairsville, WV Make Offer

• CATEGORIES: CJ-2A • TAGS: , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Has square bolt heads on the windshield, indents, and a column shift. The VIN is supposed to be 17093, which is high for the square heads.

“1946 Willys Jeep CJ2A. First civilian Jeep Model. 4WD (Low and High) and 2WD. Three on the tree manual transmission. Flat-head four motor with all original parts with a 6V electrical system.

Does not run, motor is seized. The entire vehicle needs a TON of work. Would be a full restoration project with complete tear down and rebuild. Its been in storage in weather free storage for 12 years. Prior to that, it was barn stored. I entered ‘salvage’ condition above because there is not a “poor” option.

I’m taking offers with no certain price point in mind yet.”

1946 CJ-2A Phoenix, AZ **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: CJ-2A This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4200.

Seller took this to satisfy a debt and knows little about its drivability. It’s not quite as stock as the seller thinks, but appears fairly stock.

“We have a nice original 1948 Willy’s Jeep CJ2a for sale. The only thing that has been changed is it was upgraded to a 12 volt alternator from the 6 volt generator. It’s a 3 stick setup. 1 for the 3 speed transmission 1 for the hi-lo setting and 1 for the 2wd to 4wd it also has locking hubs. There is a roll bar and a bikini top which is not currently installed. It has the original 4 cylinder 134L engine in it. All the running gear is Dana. The Jeep was made by Kaiser Jeep in California. It has no rust and except for a few small bumps and bruises is in fine shape. All gauges are there and apparently in working order. It has a brand new exhaust system ready to be installed. All seats are intact but need cleaning for dust. Tires are marginal and need to be replaced with original Jeep style tires. If your looking for a mint condition Jeep this is not it. Not sure about its running condition as we took it for a debt and have not tried to start it. It has a clean title. It shows 21070 miles on the odometer not sure if those are original or not. Glass is good and it has a vacuum windshield wiper on the drivers side and a manual one on the passenger side.”
