Due to CL ad being in Baltimore CL, I think this is Carroll County, MD (not VA).
I wondered about that, too. But, just now, I see the Maryland license plates 🙂
If the transmission is stock, it should be a t14.
Larry. Agreed. The T-150 3speeds weren’t introduced until 1976. Another optional upgrade between 71-75 was the T-15.
Dave, the T-15 was only available with the V8. The T-18 4 speed was an option for the 6 cyl.

I can’t speak to personal experience with the issue, but according to Novak the T-15 was an option behind the 6, too. I guess they could be wrong?

Novac may offer it aftermarket, but the T-15 was not offered from the factory with the 6cyl. The reason I know is I ordered my 74 CJ5 new. It also states it in the Service Manual.

Dave, that’s what I like about your site. You have a large reader base with alot of knowledge. I have learned quite a bit about other models of Jeeps and related equipment. Thanks, and keep it up.
I updated the ad to reflect the correct motor and transmission.
I also included pics of the motor stamp and transmission casting.
It is a 258 I6 and a T14.
