1961 CJ-5 VW/Diesel Project Fontana, CA $3500

• CATEGORIES: CJ5 • TAGS: This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

This is unusual.

“This was a VW diesel swap project I have been working on. GM Saginaw power steering conversion. Has painless switch panel. New tires. It is registered, It runs and drives. I unfortunatly underestimated the little diesels power for highway speeds when i chose the gear ratio. Take over this project or I may pull engine to part it out. I still have all the hardware to install a small block Chevy. It has disc brake upgrades large rear brakes. Dana 27 Front, Dana 44 rear. 4.27 gears, Detroit Locker rear. Dana 18 transfer case SM465 Chevrolet truck transmission with Granny gear. I will separate the diesel and sell if interested in the jeep only. Or sell whole thing.”

1947 CJ-2A Oak Brook, IL **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: CJ-2A This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4000.

The jeep ran and drive before disassembly. Now it’s a project.

“I’m selling my 1947 CJ2A project. The jeep runs and drives (just not now). When I got it in February/March, I was driving it around, then realized the transfer case had a stuck fork. So the transfer-case was rebuilt.

Here is what needs to be done:
-Clutch work
-bleed the brakes
-electrical
-body work
Everything is there albeit a few broken bolts that were discarded during disassembly. Comes with extra jerry cans and an original WWII Grill. This would make a great military jeep when restored!
This was going to be restoration project but real-life has since gotten in the way. No tire-kickers”

1946? CJ-2A Jerseyville, IL $1000

• CATEGORIES: CJ-2A This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Not sure how much value is here. Given the three data tags it is most likely a 1946.

“Found in the back of a lean to on a farm that my friend inherited. It is all there except for the roof cross bows that may also be there somewhere. We are not interested in parting it out. Nobody is there to do that and it is a bit of a drive for us. I am not sure he knew it was there the roof of the shed settled down on a tractor that he wanted out and there it was back in the back covered up with junk. It belonged to his grandfather. It has 1963 plates on it. If it was ever registered that is probably when. My friend is 56 and never seen it moved. All the wheels roll and its complete as when parked. Plenty of rust including the floor pans. Both vin tags are present but almost unreadable. There is an extra windshield there and possibly other parts. Thanks Lynn”

1942 Photo of Jeep Descending Dune on eBay

• CATEGORIES: Features, Old Images This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

The caption refers to the vehicle as a ‘Jeep’ car.

“This is an original press photo. Down a 160 foot incline on the sand dunes at Cape Henry, a ‘jeep’ car from Fort Story makes the descent with ease during maneuvers training drivers to handle these vehicles over all types of terrain. Should American Soldiers see service in desert lands the training these men receive will be of great value.Photo measures 9 x 7.25inches. Photo is dated 4-22-1942.”
